absolutely worth the 6 USD

movement is incredibly fluid and fun
the map is super simple to a bit of a detriment as some parts of the bigger areas just aren't on it at all or have text cutting off.
backtracking is a requirement and for about an hour of gametime i was effectively just entirely lost, but i blame my memory more than the game for that.

this game is an incredible idea that i hope lasts longer than the 6 months promised of updates
it needs more content, sure, but beyond that it will likely need a reason to keep coming back from time to time.
i hope this game is able to keep itself alive for ages to come.

it acts like Deep Rock Galactic if it was actually Phasmophobia instead of a horde shooter.
the goofy aesthetics play into the horror really well, too, the juxtaposition doesn't ruin the horror at all.
the game is early access, and the nitpicks i have with it are relatively minor

so far i've experienced:
a good time
a great time
a random frame drop from 144 to 55, not sure what caused it - never went under 55 but i have it locked to 144 (which it usually stays at), so something was up but sadly im not able to tell what the actual issue was.

stuff i'd like to see would be:
the exterior of moons being slightly randomized or at least having like, 3 variations to each moon so that there's a little bit of outside exploring instead of just bee-lining to the factory once you learn where it's at every time.
different types of indoor interiors (though this may already exist, but in the stuff i've explored so far, they're all very same-y)
giants to be a little more tolerable - once the Big Man is near your ship it's kind of a pita to get around them successfully. them also being fast as hell makes *sense*, since they have big limbs, but idk, maybe make it so their grab isn't so, immediate? they just GRAB and that's it that's game over, you can't really run or dodge them.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
titanfall is back baby and it's an indie game by a guy called "Andrew Smith"
now with 0 servers!! you can't get DDOSed if your game is offline :)

in reality, though
the game itself is really, *really* fun. the tenth rewrite is finally the one that got it right.
in terms of actual movement, it rivals Titanfall 2, im not sure if it surpasses it because i never got to play that much Titanfall before it died. i could *easily* see myself booting this up just to run around in the environments then shut it off, ignoring the actual gunplay
gunplay is also very fun, being as fluid and fast paced as the movement, complimenting it very well. i wish i had more to say about this but i generally don't play video games with bang bang shooty vibes in it, the game just has such good movement that passing it up would be a travesty.
the music is some nice simple synthwave stuff- but not something that i'd really write home about, not to say it's bad... because it isn't.
idk what other details to write about, it's a rougelike so infinite replayability i guess? it's in active development and Andrew seems like a really nice guy with the passion to make this into a game that outshines it's relative competitors.
it's good as it is right now and i'd say well worth the 15 bucks. if it's on sale for anything under 10 it's a steal- you might as well be taking from Andrews personal pockets and spit in his wallet.

this game is phenomenal.
there isn't anything i've played that resembles the absurdity yet insanely amazing design in levels, characters, art, and throw music in there why not.
the cultural impact this game has had is so drastic it's something i would've never expected, im so, so glad to see it come into a spotlight it deserves. thank you tour de pizza for bringing us, after 5 years, one of the fastest, fun, yet still precise platformers in probably history. Sonic team weeps.

the fact that im still working on, and excited to continue, 101%ing the game speaks volumes of the quality.

please buy it. i cannot think of anything more worth the 20 dollars.

i don't know what it is about this game in particular but wowie zowie does it make me yawn

the procedural world gen feels insanely half baked and wildly unreal- which is cool in moderation but there's like random gaps that are just like 8 blocks deep that seem like in any remotely real world it'd just be covered by the world around it- it's nitpicky but it does degrade the experience for me

caving isn't fun, which is crazy i love caving in Terraria and Minecraft (both before and after 1.18) but wow it is just like the worst parts of both games had a crazy demon baby and they decided it's home was in this game

also the story blows. I've never finished it because I've never been even remotely invested enough in going to a planet just to stare at furniture(?) like why do i need to stare at furniture to defeat an octopus(?). I don't care.

hell, I forget the game even has a story at most times because it takes the furthest possible seat away from the forefront. that would be good, if the game didn't force it down your throat that there's a CRAZY overarching story in the first 5 minutes that it immediately forgets about- manages to pull it off better than I do.

hey but the enemies have a really cool procedural generation technique, that's kinda dope ngl.
oh and native linux support. that's always really cool.

like mario party, but hashed together in 2 minutes and no board, just minigames.
