I used to think this DLC was BS, but actually I was just trash and got good.

The Good:
-It's actually pretty frightening at times
-The story, while fragmented, is reasonably interesting and pretty exciting at the end
-You definitely feel helpless while playing at times

The Bad:
-The monsters are significantly less scary after they catch you once or twice

Overall:
Definitely recommend. The game is a fantastic mix of survival and horror, and really drives home the themes of the game. My only fault is that the monsters are far scarier when you just catch glimpses of them watching you or sneaking up on you. Since there isn't much enemy variety, once the monsters descend upon you the first couple times and you get an extended view of their pink and squishy glory, the horror kind of wears off on me. But don't worry, that's not a major flaw, the game's plenty good regardless.

The Good:
-Very easy to pick up and play
-Good game flow and smooth mechanics
-Engaging music and visuals keep the game interesting

The Bad:
-Short, but that could be a good thing

Overall:
140 is a bite-sized game that is certainly worth playing. It probably won't blow your mind or make you think deeply about much, but it does what it sets out to do very well. I think we can all respect that.

Pros:
-Vibrant, interesting levels
-Huge nostalgia factor
-Reasonably fun exploration

♥♥♥♥:
-Awful controls and camera
-Poor pacing
-Terrible minigames
-Complete lack of polish

Overall:
I can only recommend this game if you've already played and enjoyed one of Rare's old collect-a-thons, like Banjo Kazooie or Donkey Kong 64. Even then, this game may do more to harm your opinion of the genre than is worth it.

On the good side of things, the game is pretty colorful and nice to look at. It also very much feels like an older Rareware game, in a lot of ways. However, I'd argue that the problems of the game stand out far more than the shining moments.

For one, the controls and camera are a complete disaster. Even with the launch patch, the camera regularly gets stuck on overworld objects, or snaps to positions that make controlling the character difficult and frustrating. The various special moves, of which there are far too many, generally control like garbage, seemingly intentionally as a substitute for difficulty.

There are only five worlds in this game, which is pretty slim given previous games in this style. They attempt to make up for it by having the worlds be "expandable", however it's pretty obvious that in most cases they just snipped a normal level in half to make the game feel longer.

Almost every single minigame isn't fun, whether it's rextro's stupid arcade games that feel like a middle schooler's game design project using Yooka-Laylee's assets, or the incredibly frustrating to control minecart games, the head-scratching design and control decisions that seem to have gone into the game's inception truly astounds me. How could a developer take so many steps backwards in fundamental design choices in one game?

That leads me to my final overall point: The game is unpolished as hell. Nearly every problem I have with the title, except for the low world count, should have been solved with a little TLC at the end of development. But, because this apparently wasn't done, we're left with an occasionally buggy and frustrating to play game that made me ask "What the hell were you guys thinking?" over and over.

Pros:
-Fairly faithful recreation of the game
-The board game is good

♥♥♥♥:
-Pitifully few options
-Online is glitchy as all get out, frequently ending in unfinishable games
-No AI in online games
-Terrible interface practices

Overall:
Unless you really like eclipse, don't buy this. Even if you do really like eclipse, the board game is infinitely better, besides setup time. The only reliable way to play the game is to beat up AI, since online games are infrequently uncompletable due to very poor programming. The polish all around is extremely lacking, resulting in very bad AI designed for tablets and incredibly poor net play.

I'll be certain not to purchase from these developers again.

The good:
-Music
-Amusing concept

The bad:
-Abysmal camera
-Length, relative to the number of concepts brought to the table
-Lack of polish
-Bland, repetitive levels

Overall: This game is plagued by a horrible camera and extremely repetitive gameplay. It was cool being a snake for about an hour, then the next five were a complete slog as the formula never really advanced too far beyond that. The only difficulty was driven by poor camera angles in instances where things you needed to climb were rotating and moving at the same time.

I can't really recommend this game. It's just boring and repetitive all the way through.
