Fun 2D parkour platformer with responsive control and a unique charm.

Fun, short, and simple game.
The unpredictable physics makes the speed-running aspect not live up to it's potential, however.

Such devastation

New player experience is good, but there's a lot to learn, which is part of the appeal to me.
It's worthwhile to find a well-moderated server or community to play in, as most public servers and the most popular game modes have a complete disregard for immersion.

Make sure you have a good PC. Even then some servers might cause performance problems.

Recommended if you're into this sort of game.

My overall feeling after finishing Doki Doki Literature Club is that Salvato tried to go too big, the whole thing has an aura of pretentiousness.
There is some potential, but it would require much more experience and work to pull off.

The Good:
-Quality artwork
-Free
-Cool Spoopy effects
-Poetry
-Interesting concept for the plot

The Bad:
-Unremarkable writing.
-The limited time that's spent on each character is mostly filler and canned dialogue as opposed to things that explore their personalities and thoughts on a deeper level.
This may be intentional, but makes the big "twists" very underwhelming.
-Relies too heavily on shock value. It doesn't work when there are warnings everywhere and the writing's about as subtle as a brick through a window.
-The metafiction aspect is not handled very well. It doesn't do much more than serve as a base for the main plot, but is presented as something deep and complex.
Simply "being meta" isn't going to impress me.
-Tries to be self-aware, and in doing so reveals the areas in which that self-awareness is sorely lacking

I wish there was a neutral option on Steam, but I'll recommend it seeing as it's free, and it's clear a lot of work and heart has been put into it.

I recommend this because It's free.
It's buggy, looks terrible, is incomplete (early access) and doesn't have a complete English translation, but you can get some entertainment out of it.
