I don't review many games but I will say this... at about 800 hours Rust had become my all time favorite game. Currently 1300+ hours and I'm still a newb.

-Dev's consistently providing new, engaging content for many years. I just don't understand how they keep adding incredible things to this game.

-Community is delightfully toxic, or woefully helpful.

-PvP dynamic of this game is far better than any other survival game by a long shot.

Advice to you as you start is beginning by getting use to prim pvp on a primitive pvp server. Using 10x servers to warm up and get use to effective base designs, then moving to the vanilla for the real challenges and real rewards.

Hadn't played, nor heard of the originals. This has hands down been the RPG I've played based on gameplay alone. Thoroughly recommend you stop reading and start playing.
