fun RPG with funny dialogue

Truly a masterclass of its genre! First off, the atmosphere in this game is unlike anything I've seen before, a bunker is a perfect setting, the claustrophobia mixed with the ominous feeling of being followed is genuinely terrifying, this game knows how to scare you without even showing the monster, everytime I stumbled into a trap and caused a loud explosion i could feel my heart racing, everytime I hid in a room while listening to the monster creep around just outside truly gave me chills, And despite the smaller size of this game, (it took me about 5 hours to finish) it is packed full of detail and i couldn't stop looking around just to see what the environment could tell me about what happened, i would easily put this game at the top 3 horror games of all time.

I've heard this game described as "fast paced chaotic chess" and i think it's certainly a flattering comparison, but i don't think it quite does this game justice, this is an evolution of the entire fps genre, not just fast pace shooting that demands good aim, but one that also demands quick reflexes to make educated decisions on a split second notice, and will be brutally unforgiving on higher difficulties (I.E. nightmare & ultra nightmare) to any players you can't keep up, this game will build you up, break you down and build you back up into a colossus of a player, if you let it challenge you! if i could wipe my memory of a specific game just so i could play it for the first time, it would be this game! cause the experience of going through this game from beginning to end isn't just a fun game, but it's an experience, an adventure! i'd recommend this game to anyone who enjoys FPS games, but even more i'd recommend anyone who tries this to really PUSH themselves, challenge themselves to play this on the highest difficulty, go for the gold! and play the master levels, if you master this game, it can be the most intense and rewarding game you can play!

Most recent patch has addressed some of the performance issues on pc, namely crashing seems far less frequent, i can actually play the game now and have put in several more hours, so far it's been everything i'd hoped it would be! a large, stunningly beautiful open world with content in every nook and cranny, giant exciting boss fights and interesting characters... BUT i have to say, this game has some obscene issues on pc, frequent crashing, it tabs out very slowly, it takes roughly 3 to 8 seconds for the game to tab in or out for me, i've experienced a bug that nearly permanantly soft-locked my save file because everytime i tried to reload my game it would freeze, (reinstalling the game fixed it thankfully) bottom line, if you wanna play this game and you have a PS5 or xbox, get it on those, its a really good game but this version of it runs terribly.

This game is one i've been playing since i was very young and it has a special place in my heart, but its been neglected by valve for too long, and its become largely unplayable because of the rampant cheaters and bots spamming nearly every server. and the lack of new content or rebalances has left the game in a stagnant, and to be completely honest, a very annoying state.
