Want to know what Railroading feels like? Oh boy buckle up folks because this DLC is going to be one huge express train speeding towards a massive explosive dumpster fire. (Spoilers)

I don't write game reviews, yet I felt compelled to write a review to voice how much I HATED this DLC. I bought AC:O on summer sale and I LOVED IT. I sunk more than a 100 hours into this game in two weeks after getting it, and loved every second of it, from side quests to main story. I felt like I was the misthios, where my choices had some degree of consequences. But I was engaged, I cared about the characters, and story.

Come completion of the main story, I embarked on Legacy of the First Blade (Legacy), and thought it started out fine, that's when I started being pushed into this forced romantic story between my misthios and Darius's kid. I didn't think it mattered but as the train just kept going, I found myself more and more detached from the misthios, and the story.

Come end episode 2 when they put a BABY in Kassandra, I was skipping every cut scene, and questioning every single detail. For example, I managed to save ALL of Kass's spartan family and not a single MENTION of them. AND this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ line of Kassandra "Never really feeling at home before" I mean really? What about all that ♥♥♥♥ when she was growing up in Sparta?

And came the start of episode 3, never have I been SO BORED, so UNINTERESTED, so DETACHED from Kassadra, could not relate with her emotions, because I wasn't even remotely interested in the baby, and Natakas, and all the dialogue, who wrote this??? Could barely even get through the prologue for episode 3 and I dont think I'd complete it. It's just so uninteresting, and now it just feels like game padding. What a waste, and a damned shame.

TLDR: ♥♥♥♥♥♥ railroady story makes super invested AC:O player not want to play the game again. Akin to having a very delicious meal only to have the chef come out and take a fat dump on your plate mid meal.

Thanks Ubisoft.

Returning now, is a game in which I have enjoyed when I was 6 and 7 years old. Unfortunately, that fun was cut short when I accidentally broke the disk. But now in 2013, I am able to recreate the same fun I had as a wee boy. Even though it’s true that the developers and publishers are profiting of Nostalgia ♥♥♥♥ like me, I would rather thank them than damn them.
With many single player campaign missions, 8 player multiplayer games, different game modes, plenty of factions to choose from, steam workshop and custom scenarios, it is obvious that there is hours upon hours of fun to be had, as long as you have a friends to play with of course.
It’s fun, you totally should buy it, so says I.
