Oh man, World of Goo.

This game is a relic of fantastic game design.

To put things simply, this game puts you in a world requiring you to build builds and complex constructs to overcome obstacles and reach the end. The end result uses encompasses your construct allowing your "goos" to reach the end pipe, with plenty of spare and win.
While super simple, this game can be frustratingly hard to beat. But once you beat the level, you are overwhelmed with a feeling of accomplishment. On top of beating the level, you can do what is known as an "OCD" challenge. Typically these result in a time trial, overabundance of goos or the least amount of moves possible.

This game's physics constantly challenge you and require you to use your own intuition and reasoning to beat the level.

Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this game. It is cute, has an engaging storyline (which I won't spoil), and has the best engine for a physics-based puzzle game I've ever played.

This is probably one of the best games I have ever impulsed buyed from a Steam Market.

Characters are engaging and have wonderful designs. The voice Actors truly feel like they loved working on this game. Level design can be a little difficult to work with, but you will never feel like the game is being unfair.

With plenty of side paths to explore, you will eventually find that this game doesn't expect you to 100% this game. In fact, it goes past 122% with all of the secrets you are capable of finding. From hidden "characters", keys, map exploration and Time Trial areas to complete, you will always have something to do.

On top of this, the combat is very fluid. It is clearly designed to be super flashy and strange, but I truly love this aspect. The combat itself is incredibly easy to learn and moderately difficult to master. As a result, you will never feel like you got hurt due to gameplay issues, but you will quickly lose track of your position if you just spam the keys.

So I highly recommend this game, especially if it is on sale. I truly believe the game is worth the full amount, however this is a one-time playthrough type of game. You will enjoy the experience to no end, but it lacks in replayability.

Crypt of the Necrodancer is a game that utilizes elements from both rouge-like games and rhythm games, and created something fantastic an interesting.

So let's break this down into three groupings
[Story, Soundtrack , Gameplay]

+[Story]+
So the story revolves around you being the daughter of a, who I could assume to be famous, adventurer. Once your mother comes down with a sickness you overhear your parents talking about a massive treasure which nobody has been able to reclaim. Once you delve into the lair of the Necrodancer you immediately take fatal fall damage and become the demon's playtoy. Your heart is stolen and forced to beat to the rhythm of the music.

A simple story that anyone can understand, and one you can both spoil and withhold information without hurting anyone's understanding of the game's story.

+[Soundtrack]+
The soundtrack is clearly this game's massive focus. With a unique soundtrack to fit every single level, you are more than likely to fall in love with the track. Coupled with the fact every level forces you to move to the beat, you are literally engaged into the soundtrack through motion and strategic planning. My only complain for this is that the music can be so hypnotic sometimes that I will eventually get killed from focusing on the music too much.

+[Gameplay]+
As described before, this is rhythm game and a roguelike game. First, let me define what a rouge-like game is.
-A roguelike game utilizes completely random level generation based on pre-set variables. You will never run into the same experience twice, excluding the end results being one of three bosses.
That being said, this game uses its music to its fullest advantage, by limiting your horizontal, vertical and combat movements to adhere to the beat of the song. Meaning slow paced compositions will result in a calmer level. Likewise, a heavier soundtrack will leave you will less time to react. Every enemy has preset AI and adheres to the movement rules as well. This means you can never truly blame the game for any "unfair" issues.

Overall this is a great game to casually play so long as you have the time to commit to all of the levels. On top of interesting design and themes of the levels, you get new characters as you play the game. While they are not necessary to complete the game, it gives you the option to change the playstyle. On top of this, you can implement your own music, at the cost of achievements.

I highly recommend this game.

I've had this game for roughly a year, with a total playtime of 6 minutes. I have seen multiple threads pertaining to this subject, but I will repeat it one more time.

Upon loading this game you are required to make a Social Club account in order to play online; a window which will pop up every time you load this game. Upon loading it and following with their system, the window closes and you are magically not playing anything. Steam stops registering the game's activity and you are left with nothing. The same result happens even if you choose to play Offline.

I have no idea what the developers of this game and Valve, as a hosting company, are thinking but I haven't been able to play this game at all. I would never recommend this to someone utilizing Steam, since apparently my money was wasted in its entirety.

This game is probably the only platformer I have ever played in which I have always had fun throughout every tiny step or largest jump. Every stage have a new music specifically for that stage, each of the stages being nothing short of memorable. The stages themselves are enticing and perfectly made for pros and newbies alike. It is difficult, but it is never the game's fault: allowing anyone to keep going without ever feeling bad towards the game's design. Overall: THIS is how a retro platform (or any platformer in general) should be made.

Truly worth the $15 dollars, and has hours of replay ability.
If anyone doubts, you can view this playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJZtGKFNc15ZoHqtzi25cAmPiV_Igkd9F
Each video is split by the stage, so no spoilers if you don't want them.

Finally: I highly recommend this game, I can't stress this enough.
