This game has been terrible for a very long time. Stay away until the snail listens. In addition, don't buy anything from them. Hit them where it hurts, the wallet of their cash cow.

EZ2 was far better than I was ever expecting. For a free mod, for HL2, it has zero right being this good. It's story isn't half bad and sits well within what makes Half Life 2, well, Half Life. The gunplay was excellent, and surprisingly enough I was fond of the reduced ammo counts, I can see this being done because of how the gunplay is, especially with the Pulse Rifle. Reduced ammo counts lead to me switching weapons more often and being creative in combat like how an elite soldier should fight, the animations are incredibly slick and satisfying as well, nothing made me feel better than blowing a zombiegaunt back to Xen with the shotgun.

Some of the things I like are the retooled weapons, AI mechanics, and creativity in combat. The level design also tended to be very good, while typically I immensely dislike any form of backtracking, EZ2 used it in ways that felt fresher and more creative. I also quite enjoyed most of the voice acting, with a few exception from two rebel VAs, but to be fair this is a free mod.

As for what I disliked, I heavily disliked the MP7, maybe I'm skill issuing or something, but I tended to avoid using it unless I had no ammo for my other weapons, it generally felt useless to me. Need to kill fast up close? Shotgun. Need to kill something at a distance? Pulse Rifle or MP5K. The recoil of the MP7 was way too heavy for my taste, even for light bursts. Another thing I disliked was some of the map design. While most areas felt great and incredibly well thought out, some other areas felt a little bland or like it was worked on during crunch, which if true, is bad since crunch is never good. Despite that, no area felt too out of place, and they all worked well together.

All in all, I'd have to give EZ2 a solid 7 or 8 out of 10. This is definitely worth a play, your first run will likely last 7-9 hours. Take your time, enjoy yourself. Defend Wilson with every fiber of your being.
