Hunt Showdown - was once an awesome and fun game. For the most part, it still is. I really don't want to give this game a thumbs up in its current state, but in saying that, I don't want to give it a thumbs down either. Its a "Love/Hate" relationship. The actual game play is fun as hell most of the time, but with declining players, it becomes stale and boring. The game isn't stable for many players, and the glitches are mounting up. So the ONLY reason I am giving this game a thumbs up is because it has provided me with a lot of fun and joy and I most certainly got my moneys worth. And I do sincerely hope that this game will continue to grow and be great someday. But it does need a LOT of work. A LOT. And of course, it needs more players. The game is definitely very unique. Its one of the best PvP/PvE games I have played in a very long time. They have this awesome idea and style. They just need to focus, fix the issues, add more content. Perhaps even have a DOUBLE XP weekend from time to time to help draw players back. Many games do this. And they need to do some proper marketing.

I guess Pros & Cons can be listed below.

Pros
- Improved performance (however I just recently got a new PC so that could be that reason for this).
- Game is fun to play, and anything can happen in any match.
- Legendary Hunters/Legendary Weapons are fun to work toward owning them some day.
- Female Hunters - however they need to work on a balance because it seems like there are more females than males to choose from. Perhaps adding a "Gender Preference" so that when you shuffle them for hire, you get more of what you want.
- Money is easy enough to make
- Choice to choose a money bonus or XP boost each time you prestige
- Blood Bonds. Gives you something to work toward.
- Bosses are more difficult which is good.
- Changes in the compound. More ways to approach a compound, more entry points, more ladders etc.
- Timer increased to 30 seconds from 20 seconds. It adds tension and can lead to a possible shootout. Bad side though, have seen more extraction point campers since this update.

Cons
- Trio matches. I do find the option good, however, I find that it splits the player base. Most people who solo or duo will likely have the Trio selection set to "OFF" so without a big player base, you will find more servers empty. For both the Trio groups and for ones that solo or play in Duo.
- No Custom Lobby and to learn that Crytek don't see this as a priority. Come on, it would be awesome fun to play with friends. One vs One or as a team against your own friends. Give us the custom lobby. Its one of the main things the community looked forward to.
- Graphics downgrade and thinning of the trees etc. The graphics is nothing to what it was back when it was in Early Access. As time went by, they thinned the trees to a point that you could see from one compound right into another. Outside of Slaughterhouse was filled with bushes, so you could ambush players or even hide from them if you didn't feel confident enough to take them on for what ever reason. But all that is gone now.
- Only has two maps. And its becoming very stale seeing the same scenery. Crytek need to think about bringing more maps out to keep the game interesting. Playing the same maps over and over, people learn every crack in a wall.
- clues need to be more randomised.
- Adding the red glow and humming to clues killed the immersion too. It was meant to stop people from clue camping but it did the opposite. And half the fun was also to go to a clue without knowing someone can be around. But now? The red glow or humming alerts you right away. That just kills the fun. Even if you wanted to follow the enemy and strike an ambush, that gets tossed out the window due to this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mechanism. REMOVE it for pete's sake!
- Prestiging feels less rewarding and feels more like a punishment. Due to the new weapons & consumable/tools unlock system, it just feels more tedious than it really has to be. Why force players into using items just to unlock the one they really want? Why should i spend money and throw little dynamite sticks if i ever want to unlock a big bundle? Why should i be forced to use a certain base weapon if i want to some day unlock the better varient? It worked fine the way it was before. You unlock it once you reach the appropriate level. So if I want to use Mosin Nagant Bayonet I need to get XP with the non Bayonet version first. Etc. If i want to use Concertina, I have to unlock multiple different things before i can use it. Before full release, it was made available at level 30. It seems like such an extra grind. And when you can prestige relatively quickly, all this unlocking seems pointless and a waste of time.
- DLCs are now sold seperately and not as a bundle. And the legendary hunter, particularly the Phantom has some serious clipping issues.
- Server instability and Mission Bag Summary that seem to reoccur frequently, where you receive no XP, no Money, no kills. Nothing. But if you die, that still counts. So that can totally wreck with your K:D
- Empty servers because the player base is dropping so rapidly
- Changes to the male sound files. They were fine the way they were. We want our unigue original Male death screams back.
- female voices sound like porn stars when they're injured. Rethink these and maybe change them to sound like they're more in pain than in ecstacy. Just saying.
- More Boss additions.
- Monster Book / Weapon book seems to glitch. I think it needs to be re-looked at.
- Player footsteps are way over loud and drowns out just about every other sound.
- Adding heaving breathing sounds to your player when they point a gun wasn't the best idea. Now you can hear enemies way too easy. Even their sneaking sounds are over amplified that i can hear them down the opposite end of the hall. Was this intentional? The overall sounds in this game don't seem to be working too well in general. Some sounds are also cut out entirely. For example. Partner hears gunfire in the distance. For me, I heard nothing. If i creep closer to where my partner was and they fire shots again, THIS time I heard it.

I am sure there are others to add, but i will leave it here. I really wanted to give this game in its current state a THUMBS down. But I will give it a Thumbs Up because it is overall, despite all its short comings, a fun game to play.
