Everyvody seems to love this game, so I'm not gonna say it's a bad game - because obviously it's not. However, certain people (like me) will be put off by a few points that are not recoverable and gamebreaking to them.
My biggest issue: I'm arachnophobic and all enemies in the game (without exception!) are spider-like crabs or bugs. (100% gamebreaking)
Second biggest issue: I can't navigate the maps, everything looks confusingly identical to me, I always get lost and therefore never really participate in gameplay (100% gamebreaking).
Lastly: maps are procedually generated, so you do the same stuff in the same maps over and over, plus you level ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slowly. Meaning, If you're not into the gameplay and killing bugs/spiders all day, there will be nothing to keep you motivated.
I see what ppl like about this game, it's just not for everyone. Keep in mind BEFORE buying.

The Bureau may not sport the best visuals, controls or AI out there, it may not have the most length or game depth, hell it may sometimes even be outright stupid, senseless or steal ideas or concepts from other games (we remember Cmdr. Shepard - right?) or media. HOWEVER, I had a blast playing this game 3 (!) times. There is a lot to like here if you don't take every little, tiny bit too serious and just enjoy the dark feeling of an alien-invasion in the 1960's. People are smoking and drinking all the time (which just suits the setting), there is a somewhat creepy Roswell-feeling all the time, the locations are designed really well and the action is likeable, also I like Carter (the protagonist) who constantly stumbles between being a total ***** and a soft-hearted human being. All in all I'd say that if you like cover-based third person shooters, sci-fi settings (and if you wait to get it on a sale), you'd probably get yourself 20+ hours of 1960's fun... ;)

This is more or less "Fanware". The game got lots of bad reviews due to AI-issues, bugs and not having enough content or moving to far away from the real fan-experience (for example by displaying the Gorn as fast and smart, yet agressive and technologically advanced Velociraptor-like foes, instead of slow, dumb and primitive reptiles...). In my opinion the cooperative experience is fun, the gameplay fairly easy and straight-forward and a lot of the known issues seem to be fixed. Since the game is definitly not AAA but more of a merchandise-gag, to sell ST: Into Darkness, I would never have paid full price for it, but the prices currently revolving around 5 € (more or less) seem reasonable and I think any ST-Fan who likes the recent movies with the new crew and is into co-op-gaming will be satisfied. If you count yourself one of those individuals, you should give this a try ;)
