My favorite platformer and one of the best games of all time.

I don`t know how they did it, but I think this is literally the perfect game. I struggle to find things I don`t like about it. Everything about it functions perfectly and perfectly synergizes with everything else, and I`d be hard pressed to find someone who couldn`t find enjoyment in this game.

Small tip: Play with either the keyboard or D-pad. If you have a controller with an analog stick, it's tempting to use it as it's more comfortable early on, and it should work fine for the main game, but if you want to pass the extra content at all believe me you'll want the precision, and it's best to get used to it early on while the game is still easy!

After completely obliterating the 4th wall in Umineko, Ryukishi07 has decided to take the next step and write reality itself.

This is a miracle novel. I am still in shock that this even exists. If you've already read the first part, then this is a must. The quality of these later arcs are not as consistent as the first 4, but they peak even higher than before. If you haven't read the first part, THEN DO SO!

There is literally nothing like Umineko, it is an once-in-a-lifetime experience. It might not be perfect, but ♥♥♥♥ if it is not a breath of fresh air.

Like with the question arcs, make sure to install 07th-Mod for the best experience.

A must-play. The story is nothing to write home about but it's enough of an excuse to go through these incredible levels and is carried by Virgil's very likeable personality. I never felt like he was annoying or overstayed his welcome unlike Aperture Tag's Nigel who occasionally went a bit too far. The soundtrack is absolutely fantastic. Harry101UK returns for another god-tier Portal soundtrack. The visuals are about as good as Portal 2's, but the maps are sometimes way better mapped than anything on the Portal 2 main campaign and look incredible.

The true star here is the puzzles though. Portal 2's biggest issue was that the main campaign was ridiculously easy (even compared to Portal 1, which was already an easy game) and was littered with badly designed "find the white wall" interludes. This game is the fix to that issue. Every puzzle here is great and actually challenging. If you've just finished Portal 2 and are looking for more interesting puzzles, but find yourself discouraged by the harder community maps and mods, this is what you need. This mod is the perfect gateway into more complex and interesting ways to use the testing elements, without ever overdoing on the difficulty. Even if you are a very advanced player, the mod includes an Advanced Mode so that advanced players don't feel left out. This works much like Portal 1's advanced chambers, but unlike Portal 1, this covers the entire game, and the changes are much more interesting (whereas Portal's advanced changes sometimes amounted to just inconveniencing you rather than making the solution itself more difficult).

This game does suffer from the same problem as Portal 2 of having a lot of "find the white wall" segments, but these are usually paired with interesting puzzles, resembling more Portal 1's finale, and don't overstate their welcome.

Overall, this is the gold standard for Portal 2 mods. If you haven't gotten to it yet, you're missing out!

A VN classic. If you consider yourself a fan of the genre at all, you owe it to yourself to at least try it out. Do note that it's a pretty massive time commitment though (I took 90 hours to complete it and it's only the first half of the story) and it's a very slow-paced story that takes a while to really set itself up. Also, if you're squirmish with gore and depictions of abuse then this will make you very uncomfortable constantly.

Download the 07th-Mod for the far superior PS3 assets and the absolutely stellar voice-acting.

This is a great game but you have to be aware of some things before going into it or you're gonna have a bad time:
  • This is not a mystery. The game tries to give the impression that it is a mystery going in to hook you but then barely develops it and the mystery itself is very obvious. The plot is much more character-based as it'll become clear as soon as you get to the first dungeon.
  • This is a long-ass game. Like 100+ hours long. Not only does the game have some pretty significant "free time" periods where nothing really happens, there'll be a point in the plot where you'll think you've reached the end of the game (you'll know when you've reached it) and I ♥♥♥♥ you not the game will keep trucking on for 15 more hours and 2 more dungeons somehow.
  • Don't play on Normal. If you don't care about gameplay and just want the story, play on Easy. If you care about the gameplay, play on Hard. Normal is just a stupid middle-ground which pleases no one. It's just hard enough to grind your gears when you just want to move on but not hard enough to be any level of challenge at all unless you're really stupid.
  • Try to build up as many Social Links at once as possible while playing, not just ones with the characters you like. This is important not just for your gameplay convenience but because, as you'll find out eventually, the game continues for a *really* long time and if you're stupid and only do social links for your faves you'll find yourself with nothing to do around 2/3rds of the way in. It's okay to give more importance to your favorite characters, just try to spread them out a little bit.
  • Unless you plan on doing a second playthrough for 100 more hours, be sure to level up Adachi and Marie's Social Links. Adachi's unlocks an alternate ending, and Marie's unlocks the true ending.

You know the game is good when you're not sure if it's actually breaking or if the game's just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with you.

Spent 4 hours trying to beat the hard-ass AI.
Finally got good enough to consistently beat the AI to the point it got boring.

Went online.
Immediately got destroyed by everyone else.

10/10
