If you know Blood Bowl as a game from earlier and enjoy playing it either with friends, vs. AI or strangers, I would definitely recommend this game.

However if you are a newcomer, then I'd say it depends on what you are looking for or expecting.

The game is much fun, has an amazing deep theme but can also be steep on the learning curve, which combined with high RNG dice based) system – can lead to several frustrations and confusions.

For new peeps wanting to check it out, I would recommend checking Andy Davo's youtube out and read the first pages of the rulebook.

If you like games like FTL and such, this is a very nice tactics and resource management game with an interesting theme!

It offers some 12 to 20 hours of game play or +10hrs if you wanna grind all side quests and achievements as well.

Great for a weekend escape :)

It is a new FPS game, it is not CS, it is not old COD or new COD, it is a new FPS called Battalion 1944 which draws its inspiration from some of the mentioned games.

That said, I like the game very much. Naturally, it has its flaws – which game does not?

I can recommend the game but while trying to be as open as possible on what to expect:

1) It is a quite simple 5v5 attack vs. defend bomb site FPS shooter
2) It is relatively fast paced and not at all a realistic WW II shooter, that is not the point.
3) It is skill focused and not too arcade or casual. Easy to get into, but hard to master. You will get dumbstered if you play vs. people who simply are better than you. (Trust me, I face this a lot).
4) Faceit integration to enable MM is good as it grants ranking, seasons and ladders. Sometimes there are connection issues, but admins are very responsive. At least at the time of writing.
5) Since May 2019's relaunch, the playerbase has gotten a nice surge and is currently okay-ishly healthy. Where it goes from here, is impossible to predict. There is a chance that it might plummet.


If you are yearning for that jump shot, quick peek, crouch hide, strafe jump to insane spot, bolt-lock rifle headshotting action – this will be your jam. If you want bright colors from over the shoulder camera or slow paced aim only matters shooter – this is not for you.
