Simply, I love it. I feel it is a game that lives up to the hype. My favorite games are the Mother series, so of course I am a bit biased with my love for it. Fantastic soundtrack, touching story, and I love the fact that you can play as a big softie. Then you can go back, do a genocide run, and feel like a horrible person as well as have a massively challenging shift in gameplay. People may complain about the graphics but bearing in mind that it was made by a small team it seems to be a really petty whinging point. It's the style of the game, it suits it, and I am not a person who goes and buys a game solely on graphics quality anyway.

Also I find the negative reviews that are along the lines of "wow this game is so easy I hate it and quit after I got stuck at [x boss]" on a pacifist run chuckleworthy. They should stop being salty and get better at games. :V
