We all know this game had a rough release. But kudos to CDPR for pulling the No Man's Sky maneuver and turning this game into a great experience instead of scrapping it as a failure and moving on. Are there still some bugs? Sure, but it's no worse than anything you'll see in any of Skyrim's 500 releases.

Great story with awesome, engaging sideplots. Absolutely gorgeous and immersive world. And a challenging but satisfying combat and progression system. Regardless of how it started out, this game has redeemed itself to the top 10 list of my favorite games.

Fun little roguelike for passing time. Mechanics are intuitive and movement is smooth and enjoyable, especially in fever mode. The art style is cute, character design is fun and actually looks like the cast of a gacha game. Features Nickireda's classic "running through X" animation, which is always a hoot. Soundtrack is fun and lively.

My only criticisms are of the minimap and item system. The minimap itself is well designed. Having blips for each of the NPCs and their level is a really nice system that helps you figure out how to set up a big combo. My issue was that the minimap doesn't rotate with your perspective in the level, so it can be a bit disorienting.

As far as the item system goes, there are some items that I felt weren't really worth buying compared to others of similar cost. It seemed as though ones that helped with struggles weren't nearly as valuable as those that helped you get to weaker idols faster or chain combos more easily. As playthrough time is short, I never felt like keeping myself from dying was a top priority, as I could be back to the same level within a few minutes.

Minor criticisms aside, overall GachaHell is a nice, simple, well put together game! I enjoyed my first win and look forward to trying the other two unlockable characters soon!

It's fun, it's cute, and there's so many FROGS!

Frog Vibes took a page from their publisher's book with the game's controls. The movement system is simple, but tight, responsive, and really rewarding. Much like Gears For Breakfast's "A Hat in Time," you feel good just moving around the maps.

The gameplay is fun and the recurring puzzles and challenges are different enough from world to world to keep them from getting stale. There are no consequences or damage for messing up, so the most challenging thing you'll experience is platforming. The writing is phenomenal and you'll want to seek out and talk to everybody you can for all the little quips and tips they have for you. In particular, Handsome Frog is probably the best character in the game, hands down. Additionally, the underlying plot of the game is actually quite deep and sends a nice message. The art style and animation are outstanding, and add greatly to the game's cute, no pressure vibe. The music is also fantastic, with semi-adaptive transitions between different areas of the map that switch up the mood nicely.

There are some minor bugs, but nothing game breaking that I've seen, and considering the game got a patch not even a week after its release, it's clear that the devs care about this product and want to make sure it's as good as can be for the players.

Super complex. Tutorial does a good job of giving you the basics and you'll discover and figure out different elements over time. The level of depth and multitude of lords/chiefs you can play as gives it great replay value and make it your choice to really challenge yourself.

Screw Metacritic and its bogus ratings. This game has a gorgeous artstyle, even with its limited graphics. The premise is extremely unique and well executed. And, of course, the sense of attachment to your cubs becomes very prominent, even with no dialogue or background. Something about the simplicity of this game's objective beautifully captures nature's true essence. As a final note, that ending cutscene was a definite tearjerker for me.
