Early Access Review
MY GOD, YES.

It's a bit too early to fully review this game, however I must say that the Beta is going quite well. It hooked me upon starting on my first world...although not everything is implimented yet there is still quite a LOT of content in the game.

I have not reached the endgame, but I have watched countless streams of people who were in that part of the game.

A warning to all: the game is in the first phase of Beta, wipes are EXPECTED. Don't go building an epic Glitch castle and then cry your heart out when that save is wiped. The devs experiment a LOT to get the right balence and feel to the game, and wipes are going to happen in order for you to fully experience those changes.

If you are on the fence about buying: price probably won't change, so you could check back later and then buy it prior to release. (although you should test it and get a feel for things...don't go too deep, you might burn yourself out before full release)

Yes; this game looks similar to another game in the genre called Terraria (if you have not heard of that, go search it NAO), however both games branch off in quite different paths. In Terraria, you stay in one area...map is pretty small compared to Starbound, and it's more focused on just mining and obtaining gear so you can slay bosses and stuff...eventually making your own utopia (I guess)

Starbound, however: you start on one planet, as soon as you get your bearings, you check your star map on your ship...you'll notice how quickly things change. Millions...no...Trillions of planets out there await your beloved starship's arrival and your feet to touch the ground. There will be harsh enviroments...which will require special equipment and tactics. Monsters are fierce and also randomly generated. You'll probably won't be able to come across the same monster on a different planet.

There are several sectors in this vast universe you explore...each one getting harder as you progress. Tread lightly, traveler: you might come across a hostile pack of monsters, a mini boss, or even a sacrificial cult of bird-people worshipping the sun.

Good luck, and explore safely.

This is a game that brings me back to my childhood when I used to own some of the old Atari games I had received for the PS1. Of course, Atari existed wayyy before I was even thought of, but Luxor Evolved is a great game that brings back the nostalgic feel to those who had the experience of playing such old school classics. Also, there's epic music involved too as well, which makes the gameplay experience all the more better.

I bought Luxor Evolved for my mother, showed it to her one night, and left her with the game as I fell asleep. Hours later, in the early morning, I awoke to hear her screaming, "I BEAT THE GAME!" I was so glad that she enjoyed it, and even when I talked about it to her later on (during a reasonable hour), she told me that she'll play it again.

I have played some of the prior Luxor games, and I would have to say that this one is the most challenging, yet it's the best for new people to start.

If you have a love for arcade games, this is the title for you.
