This is honestly a very difficult game to recommend, but not because it's inherently bad, but because it is abrasive by nature.
If I had to describe it in one line, it would be "Chip's Challenge but with a crapton of mystery and intrigue slathered on top".

Void Stranger's main gameplay loop involves solving sokoban-styled puzzles by picking up tiles with your rod. You also push boulders and deal with enemies sometimes. If I say anything more it would almost definitely be spoiler territory.

If you don't at least slightly enjoy block puzzles then stay the hell away from this game.
Unlike ZeroRanger which is a good entry point to shmups, I don't think this is gonna win people over on sokobans.

That said, if you can tolerate and stick with it, then you'll find a one of a kind video game experience that will stick with you for a long time. This isn't your usual "haha meta Youtube bait with a capital ARG" game, I promise. Expect the unexpected. There's things in here that would even make MatPat's head spin. And yes, it's a LOOOONG game so you'll definitely get your money's worth, sale or not.

Most importantly, you MUST go in blind. Don't look up anything... at least not in your initial runs.
In fact, I think I've already said too much in this review. But I had to sell it to you somehow. It'll make you laugh and cry, like a family guy.

The game's not for everyone--but I wish it was. Just play it already.

One more thing though: if Void Stranger was ported to consoles, then it definitely wouldn't make it past console cert. Make of that what you will!

Legitimately better than Hotline Miami. Has style, substance, and tunes to boot.

Originally released in 2001, Sonic Adventure 2 was a platformer for the Dreamcast which was highly ambitious and acclaimed at the time for its large scale, fast gameplay and deep Chao Garden system. But how does the PC port scale up?

Upon booting up Sonic Adventure 2 you are greeted with a pre-launch configuration screen. Thankfully this menu has plenty of options including monitor selection, many supported resolutions (up to 4K) and controller/keyboard remapping.

The game itself runs in widescreen at a solid 60fps with no issues. Some of the cutscenes are 4:3 due to the onscreen visual effect overlay videos. The game itself is about Sonic the Hedgehog and his black/red rival Shadow, and each side (Hero/Dark) has their own unique playable campaign. The main gameplay revolves around running through stages as fast as possible with Sonic and Shadow. These are the most fun, but there are two other gameplay styles: finding Master Emerald shards as Knuckles/Rouge and shooting robots in a mech with Tails/Eggman. The Chao raising system is also a significant part of the game, and is a great way to take a break from all the action.

Sonic Adventure 2 has one of the most unique stories in video games.

While the main character is Sonic, the central character is undoubtedly the amnesiac Shadow the Hedgehog. He is identified by his black hair and distinctive red streak.

Created by an intelligent doctor and the game’s main villain, Shadow was born from alien DNA with the intent to be the ultimate lifeform. Realising the evil that was intended to be done with Shadow, the scientist behind him (who was ordered to be killed shortly after) took Shadow to try and use him to defeat the alien menace.

Unfortunately, it was not until the big bad is up in full swing and the world is screwed that anyone found any of this out, including Shadow realizing the artificiality of his life.
Shadow owns a bike, and is often accompanied by an alien who assists him in battle.

He has an intense rivalry with the blue blur Sonic, who likes to keep the world in order… but, there’s more to them than just looking like each other.

Sonic Adventure 2's story culminates with the heroes and villains fighting in deep space over the ultimate weapon, a satellite with the power to obliterate Earth.

After Shadow transforms into his golden super form in order to defeat his villainous creator and save the planet, he is sent hurtling back to Earth, and almost dies.

Overall, Sonic Adventure 2 is a unique experience unlike any other. I highly recommend picking it up if you are a fan of Sonic or like intense action games!

Alright for $5. The best games in here are Ape Out Jr. Catsylvania and Shootyboots.
