Early Access Review
Top-down Terraria with hunger and colony sim mechanics. It has a lot of content, more than I was expecting. You definitely get your money's worth. Retains a lot of QoL from Terraria, such as quick stack to nearby chests and smart mining. Very addictive game.

If you're buying this game for local play, it's a fine game. If you're buying it for online play, know that it lags and desyncs in almost every single match you will get in.

The gameplay is great, the sound design is good, the graphics are nice. I just wish the online worked properly. And yes, I know it "works", but I mean without a ton of lag or desync.

The gameplay and mechanics are actually very solid. Enjoyable gunplay, fun equipment system, a lot of helpful consumables, and most of the normal enemies / minibosses were pretty well designed. The level design was pretty mediocre. Half of it was just copypasted assets, and mostly drab. I did like the aesthetic of the desert area and forest area though. The soundtrack is nothing special, but to be fair, Dark Souls is one of my favorite games and I really don't care for it's soundtrack.

Some of the bosses are really heavy in terms of enemy spam, which really just makes the bosses tedious and unenjoyable. Most of them have little depth and just rely mostly on enemy spam to be "challenging". The game crashed for me a couple times, and it was a bit buggy at times. I think I would've liked the game a lot more if the boss design just wasn't so incredibly weak and shallow.

---SPOILERS AHEAD---

The worst boss was the final boss, which really stinks because it was a horrible note to end the game on. The final boss is basically extremely gimmicky. The first phase is normal and plays out like other boss fights, but the second phase doesn't play like any other boss fight in the game. Which could've been fine if it didn't actually end up being worse. The mods my friend and I specifically had were Hunter's Mark / Mender's Aura(me), and Rattleweed / Mender's Aura(friend).

There's a mechanic in the fight, where you get sent to another dimension of sorts, and have to kill a bunch of enemies there for a damage buff that will make you do increased damage to the boss once you leave that dimension. I would get around 15 stacks or more, and when you damage the boss, you're supposed to do enough damage to him to be able to make his chest open up so you could damage him.

The only problem was, with our mod setup, my friend and I found out we literally did not have enough damage to make the bosses' chest open up. We basically wasted an entire night of our time trying to beat it, only to find out our mods just weren't strong enough for it. The next day, we looked up a guide because we were stumped, and apparently other weapon mods are way stronger for the fight. This is the ONLY BOSS that we actually had to change our mod setup for, in order to defeat. We both switched to Wildfire and basically beat it instantly. It was extremely lackluster and unfulfilling. The whole situation pretty much ruined my opinion of the game.
