Red Dead Redemption 2, a game that needs no real introduction. Rockstar really outdid themselves this time.

The Good:
- The level of customization the player has over Arthur is absolutely amazing. From his hair, to his beard, to his clothes, to his weight, calling right back to when CJ could get fat or skinny in San Andreas.
- The weapons handle well, and feel like they have real weight to them. As well, being able to plate every gun in gold is a nice touch.
- The story, side missions, and lore are all amazing, and some of the best not just in the series, but that Rockstar has made in the past 20 years.
- Being able to switch from first to third person is great, and can be useful in more tactical situations, though the transition can be a bit painful.
- The honor and bounty system work well, and disguising oneself before a robbery is not just fun, but also very realistic.

The Bad:
- The animations, while nice, can get tiresome after a while. Sometimes you don't want to pick up that can of beans realistically, or grab a man's body to get a pocket watch.
- It's easy to accidentally piss everyone off, and can make paying off a bounty a chore.
- Fist fights are painful.
- Having to unlock everything before being able to purchase it really damages replay value.

The Ugly
- Lowering the graphics can result in some strange texture errors, lighting errors, reflection errors, and particle errors.
- The lack of plans for an Undead Nightmare expansion, despite the existence of a special and ultimate edition, leaves a lot to be desired.
- You can't talk about RDR2 without mentioning the horrible working conditions that went on during its development. Crunch time and abuse that was rivaled only by Naughty Dog and Konami plagued development, and though the end result is great, it's hard to support the practice. Though Rockstar claims it will no longer be continuing this practice, it's hard to know just how honest they are.

Ultimately, the game is amazing. However, if you, like me, have trouble supporting Rockstar after the conditions the team went through came to light, you might sleep better if you don't buy it, buy it on sale, or get it for free.

In my personal opinion [an opinion that has not been to the previous 3 games], this game is probably my favorite thing to come out of japan.

Many of the DLC continued the story line of Xenoverse, but this was just a quick cash in. They could have added some actual missions that advance the plot of the story, it could have been so much better if they actually put in some additional plot. It was a quick cash in on a movie that was just being released.

Edit: Returning to this review years after writing it. While I still believe that the DLC was a cash grab, my reasons for why have changed. The DLC does at the least add content. The content, however, is rather superfluous. As stated before by my younger self, this DLC does not advance the plot at all. If you did not receive this as part of the season pass, skip it.

I have played this game for the weekend when it was free, i found the experience to at first be quite difficult to understand, but i then QUICKLY started liking this game. The art is amazing, the character desings are wonderful, and the over all story is brilliant, even the back stories of the characters themselves! on a scale of 1-10 i would have to rate this a whopping 8/10.
Even though i liked the game, it still had it's flaws. The flaw here being the difficulty, it sort of flucuates between easy and hard at random intervals.
