This game is buggy and crashes. In that sense, it's your typical Bethesda Fallout experience.

I'm a long-time Fallout fan, and I held off on getting 76 because it initially wasn't available on Steam. By the time the Steam version was available, the game had come a long way since launch. I was worried about PvP, but the community is overwhelmingly friendly. Instead of their camps getting nuked every game by veteran players, low-level players will often get rescued from hopeless situations and even given free supplies.

Pros:
- it's a Fallout game, and likely the last for a while
- fun gameplay with incentives to keep logging on
- very friendly community
- relatively frequent content updates

Cons:
- casual fans are forced into a survival mode where everything has weight (without perks, regular Stimpaks weigh a pound each!) and they'll get overencumbered a lot; this can make being a low-level player frustrating
- there are microtransactions, but the in-game currency can be earned for free through challenges
- weird balancing at the time of this review (scrapping a tin can yields more resources than a metal bucket, a max level 5mm Gatling Gun does twice as much damage as a max level 50 cal, there are some weirdly low limits on how much legendary scrip you can trade for per day or how many caps you can have, etc.)

I think all of the game's problems, big or small, would be fixed by modding. At the time of this review, Bethesda requires players to pay a subscription to access private servers and mods would threaten microtransaction content, so this unfortunately may never happen and we'll have to be content with custom UIs and reskins. Even so, this game is worth a try.

This is a good game to get on sale. I can nitpick the story elements (I killed so many Nazi soldiers doing early quests that there shouldn't have been any left in Paris), the characters (Abby is a cliche, deus ex machina super hacker who instantly has access to all the information you will ever need and without whom the sisters would have no chance), or other parts all day long, but at the end of the day, the game is about a Nazi-killing power fantasy, and it does that quite well.

Pros:
* gameplay itself is fun
* weapon customization is much more in depth than previous title
* you can play it singleplayer if you want

Cons:
* some of the dialogue is cringy and there isn't a lot of variety so it gets annoying quickly (the sisters call each other dude every other line and the swearing gets gratuitous)
* final boss fight is neither fun nor fair...he's just a damage sponge you have to defeat multiple times
* a lot happened between New Colossus and Young Blood and it's barely mentioned (to give a few examples: BJ killed Hitler shortly after the last game, basically the entire world except Europe has driven the Nazis out, the United States was recreated essentially as it was and somehow Grace Walker is now head of the FBI...it's like how every writing teacher says:
show, don't tell.)
