good game, too bad zach retired from making games...

chipwizard is like a spin on shenzen
solitare varieties are fun but a bit on the easier side and less engaging that prior iterations
dungeons and diagrams is the nonogram alt you never thought you needed in your life
the model maker is an interesting concept and satisfying, sort of like building lego or playing shipbreaker
hack*match is a crazy hard puzzle game that makes you think 5 steps ahead always

people keep roasting this game for being too much like hollow knight. while that may be true, it's still a cute and fun experience on its own. if you've played a lot of metroidvania's and are looking for something else in the genre to pass time with i think this is a great buy on sale or smth

fire, becomes more of a metagame of optimization than anything. scratches the itch of a nicely packed day in stardew valley or of finishing a collectathon

people complaining about grinding challenges to progress need to git gud fr

wish i could 'meh' this. fun as a collectathon and mechanics are decent, but this is a hard recommend after a while for players who aren't self-driven to completion for a couple reasons:

1) enemies are insanely spongy to the point taking one of the perks completely devalues fruit based combat in favor of quick captures
2) sponginess seems unable to keep up with, forcing you to prefer abandoning runs when too far from the next 'quest' rather than continuing your current run and routing. the game is pretty easy initially but eventually hits a spike where the sponginess compounds this severely (usually around 500 patches seen ime).
3) not enough diversity in mount powers
4) not enough diversity in powerups (in this case fruit + plants, but game could probably be a lot more exciting with more significant and wild powerups, similar to isaac)
5) post game is a bit annoying in terms of collecting remaining mounts, pets, and pins

however, as someone who generally likes roguelikes and collectathons, this game was def hard to put down. would be super hype for a sequel that could meaningfully address the above issues
