Unfortunately, as neat of an arpg as this is, I really cannot recommend people buy it. I've really tried to love it, but I feel like the devs have taken several pretty bad moves in not so amazing directions. I actually liked how they handled trading, because I'm kinda sick and tired of "player driven economies", because I already have to deal with the hamster wheel simulator in real life and would prefer my video games also not become capitalistic hellscapes. Unfortunately, the devs spent a whole lot of time on a multiplayer feature that isn't very good and won't be used all that much because many people don't actually run content in parties in many arpgs, but instead mostly play the content itself solo while trading and such with other players. Simply put the endgame of Last Epoch is extremely lacking, with it being little more than rifting in D3, or sort of like unjuiced maps in poe with no extra content whatsoever. That's simply not enough, and they're spending time on reworking parts of the campaign isntead, ya know the part that people speed through to get to the real game.

I never left a review previously because what I have mentioned above were more personal grievances, and I understand that some people mostly only play the campaign of arps. However, the addition of a very poe like mtx shop has me relatively upset. I'm certainly not against the idea of the devs receiving support beyond the initial AA price point, but I don't like that it's going to be a cosmetic shop that we get before the game's even done with pricing the seems pretty similar to poe's. Poe's cosmetic mtx is absurdly overpriced, but this is often hand waved away because the game is free. Poe also uses a stupid point system for its mtx shop, and le is going to do the same. Even with their change to the point system it's still terrible. At best, make 1 point be 1 cent, because then there is no obfuscation on how much things actually cost. Anything but that is manipulation of the consumer. I'm also not a fan of there likely being no mtx worthy cosmetic being unlockable in game that won't cost me real world money, because the game does in fact cost money upfront. Honestly, if they had held off on an mtx shop until at least post launch it might feel like less garbage, but it's a pretty bad look adding it before launch.

This is one of the most games of all time.

For real though the game should cost more because it is an absolute gem of a game. Hell, they're about to release their first paid DLC, and THAT should cost more that's how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing this product is. For real, we're getting so much ♥♥♥♥ in this first paid DLC and they're charging barely anything for it. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ man, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

God I wish GGG could just figure out that the game was considerably more fun in the past. Other games this wouldn't be an issue, because I can just go back and play the older version, but no PoE of course is a live service game so anyone who wants an older version can go ♥♥♥♥ themselves. I've tried to have fun, I keep trying but it just isn't there. The state of build balance is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ that you essentially have to be literally undamagable or delete multiple screens at a time to do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in reds. I used to be able to pretty comfortably build between defense and damage in the past, but it's just so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ for the last several years it's actually so frustrating.

Fantastic game that, although started from a somewhat shady place by a somewhat shady person, has proven to be a fantastic experience. Supported by an even better modding scene, and recommending this game is a no brainer for me. A fun, exploration heavy metroidvania styled game, it has tons of character! The modding scene is fantastic, and can essentially provide endless hours of content.

I cannot recommend this game. I wish desperately for a nice fleshed out shop sim, but here's another that missed the mark and sadly will never be fixed. The game had potential, but that potential was squandered. I have yet again fallen for the early access trap. I assumed most things would be updated, polished, and fixed before this game would leave early access. Everything in the game looks like a placeholder, and the mechanics are still fairly shallow. However, this game has now been abandoned in turn to make a second one. A direct sequal. Instead of finishing and polishing their first game, the devs have decided to take the path of just making a new one. I have to assume this is because the first game has stopped generating much cash. Even if I was to believe this is not a stunt to make more money, the state that the game was left in is ♥♥♥♥ anyways. It looks, and pretty much plays exactly as when I purchased it in early access. I would recommend avoiding this, and probably the second one too considering how this one turned out. I have no reason to believe that a sequal to this would be worth my time in the slightest, let alone my money.

A fantastic farming game, and arguably the best with native PC support.

I REALLY wanted to love this game. I wanted to love it so bad I preordered it in anticipation. I gave this game every opportunity to hook me. However, that hook never came and I refunded the game.

The game looks fantastic. I absolutely adore the art style of this game. That is not nearly enough to save this game though. The game suffers from uninteresting and boring combat. I'm not even sure why they put 3 or more combo moves on the weapons when pulling them off is near impossible because of how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slow they are and how difficult it is to break the enemie's poise. This, combined with the fact that after over an hour of gameplay I didn't run into a single interesting enemy means that I really cannot recommend this game.

Literally the best experience I have ever had. And I mean literally,
