The best way I can describe this game is the Dark Souls of City Builder games. The game is made by 11Bit Studios which you might know from their other game: This War of Mine. Just like that game, this game plays a lot with the concept of dreadful situations and hope and it does so MASTERFULLY.

There are so many moments in this game where you feel like all hope and moral is lost due to your own bad chocies and there are just as many moments where you feel hopeful for the future. I won't spoil any big moments but even getting a letter from a thankful mother for not using child labor can make you motivated to keep being a good leader.

However as mentioned already, this game is hard, this game will push you to abandon a lot of morals you might have in order to survive. However when you do it feels so great! This game makes you earn your victory in the best way possible. Combine the hard fought wins, the freedom in choices and the amazing visual & audio and you got yourself a game I can highly recommend.

I cannot recommend this game in it's current state. There are so many issues I found in my first hour of gameplay alone that I felt compelled to write this review (something I usually don't bother with). To list just some of the issues I found:

1) The respawn timer in this game might be the worst mechanic I have ever seen. You die and get to share at your teammates not understanding what an objective is for 20 seconds. Meanwhile the objective that you need to capture progresses quickly, leaving you almost no real chance to get back. To make matters worse, if your entire team dies the respawn timer is reset. So you can wait up to 35/40 seconds before you can play again, giving you a 100% guarantee that you just have to give the objective to the enemies if you are unlucky.

2) "What do you love about Call of Duty?" "Oh I love the campers!"
If you ever heard this statement, you are lying to yourself. Nobody likes a camper and the entire point of this game is to camp the objective. So either you bring a lot of grenades or you get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over. It doesn't help that every other mechanic in the game takes 10 seconds to do. (Reviving teammates, opening vaults, stealing the cash box, etc.) So stealth and sneaky gameplay is not optional as the enemy gets a warning and has plenty of time to ambush you if they just camp the objective.

3) The map/weapon design. Some maps are great, I will give the game that. Other maps spawned my team on the edge of a cliff where we all died instantly and the enemies had a different spawnpoint and could just instantly get the objective. The game has a lot of vertical heights to climb, which make take forever. Luckily they added a zipline that goes even slower than my grandma on a stairlift. As for the guns, I am a big fan of shotguns in games, sadly in this game the only shotgun I was abel to try (and what seemed to be the only shotgun in the game) is unable to kill any enemy outside of the ones with low hp in the 2 shots provided before I get a reload that takes longer than the 1+ minute it takes to load into a map.

I think one of my friends described this game the best when he said "This game has the potential to be really fun if they scrap/rework everything from it's core design and rework it."
However not all is bad about this game and I will give credit where credit is due, the people who voiced the announcers seem excited, the descruction mechanics in this game are awesome and it seems there is no real pay too win mechanics.
