NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD is a game about how depressing being a live streamer could be.
Just kidding. If you want my interpretation of the game, please read below.

MAJOR SPOILER WARNING

NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD is a game about mental health issues.

During your first proper playthrough, regardless of you knowing the game beforehand, it will mostly end up with the worst ending “INTERNET OVERDOSE”. The game first puts you at the lowest point of the story, and lets the player walk back up by getting other endings.

Ame is a girl with multiple personality disorder. On the surface, there is the off-stream self and on-stream self, but there’s one hidden personality: P-chan. P-chan is not a person who lives with Ame. It is the hidden personality who Ame used to observe herself in third person, in which we as a player control to give instructions. The game gives hints to this as soon as the game starts, that the “computer” we greeted with has Ame herself as the main processor, and while Ame goes through ups and downs such as ODing on drugs and/or going through a mental breakdown, the player share the same status with screen effects.

But still, not counting the early game over endings, all the endings are mostly negative. And I think this is the game’s highlight to me. Ame does not face herself in almost all the possible endings the player can lead to (Painful Future being an exception as Ame faces herself negatively via exposing her "main" self to the internet, and Rainbow Girl being the fourth wall breaking ending). Not enough fame? “Blame P-chan”. Being successful? “P-chan did it, I did not do anything.”

It is only the hidden ending (Data0) which Ame faces herself and worked to be a successful live streamer. The drawing in the secret.txt shows that Ame accepts and cope with her other personalities.

All and all, this game is the best Psychological Horror I ever played, along with Doki Doki Literature Club.

Awesome game, it is a steal considering the asking price and the content it provides.

10/10 would fall off track in drift minigame again
