Literally Sony had to do nothing and yet they still somehow ♥♥♥♥♥ it all up

What an amazing game, i was looking forward to a simple point and click adventure with an ending
But all you gotta know that everything you do is part of the game and i appreciate that so much
The logic behind the items and combinations make sense unlike in the series of Deponia
the biggest AHA moment i had was unlocking the achievement "so THAT'S what its for!"

You will have a hell of a time as long as you don't look this game up.
Enjoy, think and prepare and most importantly,
Don't Escape

AFter 9 years, they still care for this game.

I was tailing this one spy who changed disguise infront of me and trapped every single door/device that he was near to (you get exposed everytime you trigger a trap)

He got so paranoid to the point he just shot a random npc by accident which cause alot of attraction, every single spy came in his location and deceive inc straight up turned into a battle royale while i just acted like a scared npc on the floor. When it was just the last guy left i shot him up once he thought the coast was clear and got my first W.

Really liked the concept, really loved the devs by making this game a state of tolerable microtransactions and its genuinely fun
however,
the hackers.
I got in the game on my 6th hour after the bot matches and then literally everyone either never dies or hits you with one shot.
Really liked it but this was just unplayable and infuriating knowing that the death system in this game is brutal
maybe i'll come back to it once the devs fix the hacker issue

Sadly, the people with no lives nor skills that resorted to cheating pushed this good game into bankruptcy and hence the game is going to get closed down soon, it's so sad to see such a good game go to waste
I really wish the devs find an alternative and not throw the game and its entirety in the bin
because the game really is fun, if there is a way for the devs to release a paid version of the game that is single player and works on the PvE aspects such as a clean spawn everytime we go to fortuna III and prospectors in the game is controlled by bots,
if this was possible, The devs have my full support, because this game truly is fun.

In this case where the cheater prospers, literally no one wins. Not the players, not the devs, not even the cheaters because it's bringing this game to ruin. To the people who cheated in this game, i hope your food tastes really bad till the next year and your pet poops on your floor

I bought this game seeing it was 80% off and thought that this was another generic brawler/ souls-like game
I liked fighting games so i decided to try this out
I found reviews that mentioned that the story is too small (takes 5 hours to complete)
The lock on is trash and that it lacks a very clear explanation to how the game mechanics work

After playing for around 8 hours i started to appreciate the beauty of this game
This game is a very grindy game, and by grindy i mean that fighting mechanics of this game is insanely well done.
There are multiple moves and stances that your character can inherit from fighting and each of this move needs to connect with one another for multiple reasons;
1. It looks cool as hell to see your character execute your own combos
2. They need to be in a flow (or combo string) that makes sense or else you'll have a hard time fighting bosses or doing PvP.
3. You can alternate attacks so you can switch stances on the fly (this aspect of the game is where i took the longest into getting used to)

Just like darksouls, you can meet people in your "Single player" run, but instead of them being a silhouette they actually travel in the world that you are in
you can:
1. Be teammates or co op partners to beat multiple groups of enemies and earn XP to level up your characters
(with the exception of boss battles that have cut scenes, aka the game forces you to fight them solo which adds into the challenge)
2. You can have an honorable fight (emotes an all) with a random person and you can fight, adapt and learn each and every move they throw at you, generally making you and your opponent's character stronger.

There are alot of moves in this game, and i MEAN A L O T. You can mix and match them in your combat deck (the place where you can edit your characters combo strings on 4 different types of stances. Depending on your characters fighting style, you earn more exp by dodging or parrying moves which enable your character to learn them in the process.

This game is beautiful. The community, the visuals (especially during fighting) which makes it so cinematic and movie-like and it feels rewarding to beat multiple enemies at once.

there is a max of 3 people you can target however if you use a controller (which i highly recommend you to) the direction your character is moving into prioritizes the enemy in that direction. for example, if you're facing a boss with multiple enemies, you can keep your focus on the boss and you can attack the enemies on your periphal vision by simple moving your character towards them, meaning you can keep your focus on the boss and you can hit enemies near you to allow you space.

I also love how the game gives you a tutorial that honestly just covers approximately 20% of what the game has to offer,
The game isn't supposed to be rushed which is why the story is so "Short".

You take your time to learn enemy AI moves, you inherit them, become stronger and become an absolver.

However my only issue is pretty niche and its that the exploration is also very souls like (i was never really good with direction and always end up going to the same place 5 times taking different routes) other than that the game is every solid

I have played 300+ games all my life and completed atleast 45% of them all and still trying to.
But when i heard of this game, knowing that its a short story yet a very interesting experience, i tried it out.
Without knowing the plot whatsoever, i was led in by hand and good lord.
What an immersive experience this was.
This makes you seriously think twice about how you live your life and how you should cherish your moments with your loved ones. It's such a beautiful experience. I would even dare to say that Before Your Eyes has got to be my most favorite game of all time
The impact, the emotions and the investment of the story is literally nothing like other games such as the last of us or ghost of tsushima or the witcher 3.

I have never felt like this in a video game, and in the best way possible

Please buy it in full price, support the devs. They definitely poured their heart out on this one

Okay i've been playing this for 3 hours now (and this is my first review in a decade literally)
I've played many games and visual novels and i acknowledge that i should write a review before i end the game but s ofar i cant even wait to write about how well made this game is,
its fully voiced, all characters are very likable and you get the feeling that the script for this game isnt very lackluster, you're able to really imagine the VN because of its very intrinsic way of describing the environment around you, the voice actors are amazing and the plot so far is pretty good.

This game is so good i'm planning to get more games from the developers
