Censorship getting a bit too heavy handed.

Early Access Review
Great guns, great gunplay, great setting, very nice gameplay loop and developers that have a clear goal and update periodically.

A steal if you can get it under 25€. Just be sure to bring a friend as its not very solo friendly at the time of writing. Apparently it will change in about a month with the inclusion of solo matchmaking.

Bigger, better and more challenging. Just what a sequel needs to be.

Where Vermintide 1 was a very rough around the edges L4D clone, Vermintide 2 stands firmly on its own legs. They've clearly understood what make their game distinctly different and great, and have focused on those aspects. The map design clearly reflects it as every map has elements from the best maps of 1, with new additions that are well thought out. Grimoires and tomes are in every level to offer the chance for players to get greedy. After the well received bossfight of Stromdorf DLC in 1, they've added several such bossfights.
The gameplay has seen a number of iterations that increase depth, and the simple joy of hacking ratmen and chaos warriors to pieces.

It's absolutely what a sequel needs to be.

Lots of new quality voiceacting, two solid maps that I'll take any day over something like Summoner's Peak. A bossfight that is a breath of fresh air to the gameplay. And to top it all off an extremely satisfying weapon.

Is it worth the full price for most people? Probably not. Get it on a sale. If you're an enthusiast though, go for it.

A very competent game in the co-op vs AI genre.

The melee gameplay is superb, it is rare to see first person melee done this well. Weapons have weight behind them and impacts are extremely satisfying. Nothing better than slicing a rat in half with a greatsword, or stabbing them in the throat with a rapier. The enemies also react in a variety of animations to being struck which lends to a very brutal and enjoyable experience.

The loot system plays very well into the innate greed of players. There are Grimoires in certain levels that will guarantee better loot, but with a price. Your health is dropped by a significant amount and you cannot pick up potions while carrying them, so the players always have a choice of finishing the map safely or risking it for better loot.

The game is also very challenging on the higher difficulties so if you have a group of friends who loved to play Killing Floor and Payday on the high difficulties, you'll be right at home here.

A very competent XCOM:EU mechanics imitiating turn based tactics game. It is heavily focused on flanking which works very well and is rewarding to do. However with the unique "luck" system, accuracy by volume is very viable, and that is a nice touch.

The setting takes the cake here. A generic western would have been boring, but the supernatural elements are executed perfectly to keep the player interested. The narrator's voice is a pleasure to listen to.

The game plays out in several 1-3 hour scenarios that connect to each other to form an overarching storyline. I'm hopeful for add-on scenarios, since the layout is perfect for that.

Some people complain about the lack of overwatch and no saving in missions, but I find them to be fitting with the theme and the setting.
My only real complaint is that the combat missions have no procedural elements in them, so it is very easy to find a certain tactic for a mission that works every time. Its more like a puzzle game in that sense.

So in conclusion: I'd highly recommend this game for anyone interested in the genre of turn based tactics. With such low price its almost a steal.

The devs forgot everything that made the game good. All the aesthetics, themes and sense has left the game long ago. It was supposed to be about a tight knit group of criminals, instead it turned into a horrifying mess with out of place characters, weapons and hats.

The latest update of csgo-tier cases was the final nail in the coffin. This game went down a hilariously steep hill only to finally smash into a steaming pile of feces.
