Get Thunderstore and go modded out gate. Do NOT play solo. If you don't have a group of friends to play with, join publics. The group play and screaming make this game. Sure, it might be a little spooky sometimes, but the horror aspects are FAR outstripped by the absolute hilarity. Ideal party size should be between 4-12 players, if you can manage. Any less, and it can turn into a really quick wipe. Any more than that and it's just too damn much.

I was coerced into writing this review. I fear for my life. My sobbing children can only hope for a future where tyrannical game devs don't ship live explosives to their consumers homes.

Learning curve! Be ready for it! This game will destroy your hopes and dreams, but then you start to understand maps and mechanics and it get better. I'm noticing improvement every day, and I know I still have a ways to go, but it's good fun.
Find people to play with.

Replay value above all else. Seemingly never ending skillcap. If you tend to get salty over losses in games, perhaps RL isn't the best for you, but if you enjoy competition and fast paced action win or lose, this is the game for you.
Disregard any preconceived notion of soccer or car games, Rocket League is a completely different animal. It's precise, goofy, calculated, random, silly, and serious fun.
As far as how easy it is to slip into another match, it's practically on par with TF2.

An absolute riot with fantastic replay value. At first glance, it's easy to be skeptical, but the more you play it, the more you'll laugh and want to play more. I'm quite certain I haven't even touched on half the different scenarios.
