Early Access Review
Game is fun, has a nice progression system, a non-invasive survival system (You won't die from ignoring your survival mechanics, but they will make surviving in harsh environments for longer more difficult)

The building is fun, but i'd like to see a good guide by the developers on how to properly build larger buildings without them falling apart (I can't seem to figure out what makes a support stronger, and what will just fall apart)

This game feels like Morrowind meets Runescape meets Terraria, in many good ways. Leveling skill system that progresses based on skill use, Item durability and repair ensures that you have to maintain some level of upkeep or continue building structures to support your adventures. There is a NOTICEABLE difference in jump height run speed, and stamina usages as you level up your run and sprint skills, and what starts of feeling slow and sluggish eventually turns into speeding through the forest and tackling deer that once outran you.

The game does have it's issues though, but so far the are minor and early access common issues, such as a few jenky animations and things like some items falling through the ground, but i won't fault it for that because, well, early access, and i've only run into the items in the ground thing while mining copper.

All and all, if you like survival sandbox games, but are a little iffy on hard-core survival mechanics, this game takes a much softer approach to them. It's both punishing and forgiving in the right ways.

If i had 2 major things i would say i'd like to be addressed, it would be:

1. Inventory size: this is something i feel is by design, but i feel that either the inventory needs some expansion, or equipped armor/accessories need their own slots that don't take up inventory space. My armor and should still add weight to my carry limit, but it should not take up space in the inventory while wearing it. this potentially free's up 5 inventory slots, which you can do alot with in this game.

2. The cart feels like a chore, and i get that it's a way to practically double your inventory size, but the time it would take to clear a path and keep it from tipping and taking damage has told me that it's much easier to make two trips than it is trying to drag something that slows your down to the speed of two trips anyways. Now it would be cool if we could tame a boar to pull the cart, and tell it where to go (maybe make a boar statue that let's us send them home, and have the danger of them being ambushed if we send them through difficult areas)

the game itself though, i on track to already being a favorite of mine for the year!

Great so far, only played it for a little bit, but it kind of reminds me of a more action based Temple of elemental evil. I just wish there was a better selection of male voices, couldn't find any good high-pitched annoying ones for my Gnome.

While FF7 is a game from my childhood, and I love to play it and many of the others to re-experience my childhood, and they are good games, I'm givign a negative review over the pointless and undisclosed DRM that is attached to this and other single player square-enix games.

You lot that's tresponsible for making the decision to ad the DRM should be ashamed of yourselves. I own this game on 3 different systems (PS1, PSP, and steam) and The most advanced and recently playable copy (Steam) is unplayable due to the pointless DRM included that checks for online connectivity in a game that doesn't require or use it.

I'm not changing this review until the DRM is removed, and will be making this review for all Square-enix games that include this style of DRM.
