This game doesn't do much to try to evolve a core gameplay loop that's worked for years. Externally, it adds weather and gives you a couple new tools. Beyond that, it's the Ace Combat you know and love. I'd say the main innovation on the system itself is the ability to upgrade your plane with parts like it's a car in a racing game. outside of that, the exciting new addition is weather. It's amazing how much the weather affects how the game plays. And that's not even getting into the lore! But my wrists hurt from typing sideways so go ahead and watch Max0r's video about that

Having had this game spoiled for me by the memes and reviews (looking at you, Max0r), none of those things took away from the experience. If anything, the spoilers somehow made it better AND you get to kill a far-right senator, which i haven't done at time of reviewing because Metal Gear Excelsus is HARD.

The soundtrack and how it's integrated into the gameplay slap like hell! It literally outstrips Halo's OST with the works of Martin O'Donnel, and it's honestly harder than DOOM!

Yeah it's pretty good.

Aside Nazis from my blood family, there's nothing I hate more than CEA's Infrakkingsufferable unfrakkingskippable cutscenes. I hopped on to play a RELAXING romp at Alpha Halo's control room and now I'm writing this review MORE STRESSED than before I started. The fact that the game steals kills isn't a plus either.
