First off the game is really fun, good game play.
The reason I gave it a negative review is for a few glaring reasons:
- the motorcycle missions are extremely frustrating because in the tutorial on the side it says nothing about going faster with your run button, then to top that the race is impossible due to the controls, you cant go as fast as the computer, you cant steer as good and ect. The only way to win the race is to cheat and that is going backwards over the finish line 3 times.
- having to jump in mid air to get items in races can be extremely frustrating due to not knowing where you are in comparison trying to pickup the item.
- missions are not clear if you completed the ninja, roninja side option missions while the mission is going, you only find out after you go to the exit of the mission and once you exit the mission, you can't redo it.
- The mission "meet Sasha" you need to disguise yourself wearing a suit to get past the guards which are many, the mission made it seem like you just sneak by the suits and talk to her, not that I had to kill those suits to get the side option mission completed. This was straw that broke the camel's back for me and gave it a NO.

The add-on although short is fun, adds to the original, and the NPCs are likable.
Lots more action in this one.
No feminism, and the masculinity is not deemed toxic (that is a straight ♥♥♥♥ you to James Cameron you subversive lampshade, glad Avatar 2 bombed, and the first one should have as well).

If you enjoyed Metroid type games and want to be the bad alien for a change, then this game is for you.
The game is extremely fun and the upgrades are always adding something new.
Where this game shines is that no matter what point of the game you are, you will always need the abilities that you have gained throughout the game, no tool really replaces the other.

I love 80s rock, metal, hair band music and the over the top visuals with the game play just go great with the music. Game even keeps track of the songs you have played and beaten. Extremely fun.

Do not buy this unless you can get it for at least 50% off.
The positives to this game are the visuals. The developers went with what the original doom enemies look like and enhanced them.
Now for the negatives.
- As others pointed out, this game is more of a platformer in that there is a lot of jumping involved. It almost seems like there is more jumping than killing in this game.
- The weapons: You are constantly running out of ammo, then to top that you will have to use certain weapons with certain enemies which is constant instead of certain weapons with for certain situations. NOBODY ASKED FOR THIS.
- I am okay with the junk zombie enemies constantly re-spawning in groups, this made it feel a little more like doom wen you can kill groups of zombies, but I REALLY HATED that the only way you could replenish is to have to kill an enemy in order to get health, armor, ammo, OH and in order to get that stuff it all depended if you set them on fire, froze them, or just blow them up with a grenade.
- The levels are linear. Yeah you end up back at a center room but once you completed a path, there is something that stops you from going back that way for most levels. Only level that came close to feeling like the originals was the Gore Nest level which was level 7 I believe.
- It is the same crap as Doom 2016, you enter a area or room and fight it out with a bunch of demons, after you kill them all you can move on. Nothing like the original where you had the excitement of unknowingly walking through a hallway and wondering if the wall next to you will just open up to have a bunch demons spill out onto you.

Honestly, the original Doom, Doom2 are so much better with all the free mods out there.

I did not give this game a negative review because it is not the type of game I play, therefore it would not be fair since I have no real experience with this type of game.
When they say this game is point and click, it is just like the game from the 90s 'Dark Seed'. So do not expect a point and click game like 'Grim Dawn' or even 'Baldur's Gate', the pointing and clicking is to only solve puzzles just like 'Dark Seed'. In fact I would say this game is more like an interactive novel in that it requires a lot of reading instead of action such as reading people's stories in their journals. Some Journals help solve puzzles. The scenery is just as dark as H.R. Giger art, lots of detail went into the 2d scenes and there is a tiny bit of crafting (just joining 2 objects together to progress to the next scene in the game). I will say I am not into storytelling, especially in video games, and the story in this game is not original, and you can see how the game ends from close to the beginning, especially when reading people's journals and what type of people they were.
Neagitives:
Puzzles can be inconsistent in that you wouldn't guess that 1 object would craft with the other.
Common to pixel hunt
Some areas have little attention grabbing function.
Positives:
Great atmosphere for sci-fi horror.
Easy to play.
Great if you are just in the mood to read stories.

It is almost what the Terminator movies should have been after T2. Just take away women with the stupid ♥♥♥♥ attitudes.

Update:
So after playing through the game a second time I decided I will give pros and cons and at the end spoilers.

Pros:
- If you are a T1, T2 fan, this game lives up to the spirit of those movies with the scenery, the attitudes of the NPCs, the terminators, everything.
- A lot detail went into the levels of this game
- open world levels
- Weapons upgrade each level.

cons:
- The AI is dated meaning that expect it to be what you would find in games from 10 years ago.
- You repeat the same maps just with different things each time such as where the bases are and different objectives. Then again, with the amount of detail and work to make apocalyptic maps, this is understandable.

Spoilers:
in my original review, i hated on the strong wymen attitude of 1 character in the game because I only played about 1/4 of the game at that point. You get to the end and you get to see how this game rips into the strong wymen trope and shows it for what it really is.
also all the A-holes in the game you run into end up dying, so that is a positive, even the limp wristed annoying fairy scientist. I* smiled at his carcus.
you also get a chance to bang your tattoo thot of a strong wyman commander. Though it is a little creepy watching sex with a 3d model in 1st person view.

Okay this game is finally worth purchasing. The devs added the feature for you to save your buildings blueprint so you can reuse them again in another map, although limitted to a certain amount of blocks that can be saved and so many blueprints (believe 16 at a time) it makes the game hell of a lot better than before.
