If you're thinking about buying this because of the super sweet trailer and the cake at the end. Dont, This game is nothing like the trailers lol. Running around looting in this is so repetitive, boring and just... bloat.

So far my experience is watch the beginning cutscene, hard crash back to windows -> repeat.
Absolutely cannot recommend the game as i have 1.3 hours on record and yet to play the damn game. I've tried every fix from every video and Reddit post to no avail. This is the most broken launch i've seen in several years.
Closing in on losing my refund without ever being able to shoot a bug :)

Edit: in "12.5 hours of gameplay" i now have maybe 5-6 hours of actual gameplay. the rest is just getting to menus and crashing. This is the worst launch of a video game ive ever seen in my entire life.

The gameplay is actually fun, but ive never seen this level of instability in a video game before.

The Outlast Trials is the first game this year I can say is an EASY buy.

- Killer performance. 1440 with max settings and RTX on, Easily running 130+ FPS with no drops.
- Multiplayer, From its implementation to gameplay. Playing with friends is a must.
- VOIP. This game has one of the best VOIP systems ive used in a game. If you're playing with others. Use in game voice. You'll have a lot more fun.
-gameplay is challenging enough, but not frustrating.
-Price point. For $30 USD, buy it. I received the game for free. After playing it I expected the game to be $60-$70.

10/10 fun. Getting murdered with your friends in Outlast Trials is FUN.
I'm glad they went a different route from the recent horror games like DBD.
4 player coop vs AI is incredibly fun.
You wont be disappointed.

I bought this game because i read reviews and they mentioned a Fridge. No Details. Just Refrigerator.

WELL. You know how after Space Jam and Lola Bunny, Furries became a thing?
I'm pretty sure we're gonna have people dressing up as fridges now. weird... hot.. dommy.. fridges.

im here for it

The name needs more time to bake.

The bad-
Prior to release we just had a pre-rendered trailer. No gameplay. So, we all dove in blind kind of knowing what to expect..
The Audio is rough, everyone hears the same stuff regardless of where you are in the game so if you're in the van and your friend in the house hears a scream, you do too.
The noises and screams happen SO much that any and all scare factor is out the window after your first match.
Maps are entirely too big, as with most games of this type. Which just leaves you wondering around forever accomplishing nothing and seeing even less. OR 3 party members dead and one teammate left roaming a giant school alone, Again, with limited sightings.

The ghosts peeking around corners seem to be a on tracks experience where it only happens on one or two corners / doorways on the map and WILL happen every time you pass that corner / doorway. Once again quickly destroying any value to the mechanic.

Dying to the ghost is always the same animation, where the ghost grabs you and stares longingly into your eyes.. Then you're dead.

The Good-

-Multiple different ghosts, as opposed to games in the same category where any ghost can have any appearance. Ghosts in Ghost Watchers have a specific appearance for their type and makes it easy to identify.
-Graphically pleasing
-Jiggle Physics.

I don't currently have a lot of good to say about the game. 119 minutes played was somehow perfectly timed for a refund but I know ill visit the game again in the future hoping to see it has improved. 2 hours in, the game felt stale, predictable and more like a chore than a video game. The "scares" are too often or not at all. Finding a nice balance that doesn't leave you knowing when things are going to happen. Less is more sometimes.

I'd say pass on the game for now, The devs are actively making changes and fixing things. At the time of writing this it looks like they've pushed 3-4 updates since launch 5 days ago. Maybe in a few months the game will be more enjoyable and worth another run.
