Game doesn't work. Vanilla game crashes at start, no fix in sight. Can't recommend if an update is going to intentionally brick the game down the road.

The game is fun. There's an evolving strategy for what items you want to use as you unlock things, and plenty of treats along the way. It's not the sort of game that will necessarily last for years. I've already unlocked everything that's possible to unlock. But it was a great journey.

There's still a couple things I can do post-game, like try to come up with powerful builds for endless mode, or beat every stage with all the characters. Maybe I'll reset my save some day and get the full experience.

Not worth playing unless you have friends or know people to crew with. Even then, take caution. The game is really, really fun, except for interacting with other players. The problem is twofold:

First, PvP. Unless you play a story adventure (which does not give you loot) you are inevitably going to fall victim to somebody who spends most of their hours sadistically sinking other players ships. Unless you're experienced in PvP, you're probably not going to be able to do much about this. All of the risk lies on you. It costs nothing for others to go out and attack another player and steal their loot. You will spend a couple hours doing voyages for an emissary and end up with nothing to show for it. But there's no logic to dictate what other people will do either. It would make sense to expect to be hunted when you have a large haul of treasure. I've also heard from people that just like a good ship fight. But that won't explain the other cases where you can be solo sailing and get ganked at your first stop when you're just collecting supplies. That's the type of interaction I mean when I say sadistic.

Second, matchmaking is really bad. There's no preferences, so you will just join random players, usually a new crew, and most of the time they will not communicate at all. It's an oddly common occurrence to join a crew where a silent player will decide to GO and set sail into a rock. Sometimes I do find players who communicate, use voice chat even, but many times they are only interested in PvP. It's hard to sail a ship without communication or a common goal, which is why it's better to at least play with people you know or play solo.

This is a really fun game, and it's only been getting better... but there's a severe barrier to entry and it's very discouraging to play when I end up wasting hours trying to find a crew or otherwise get sunk trying to play solo. PvPers just have too much power and too little risk.

We had a good thing for a while, TTS, but banning minorities from the chat is unacceptable.

Early Access Review
It's ghost-hunting clue-finding fun, with mechanics such as the Spirit Box, EMF reader, and thermometer... mixed with an element of survival horror. Ghost hunting now has stakes; piss off the ghost too much and you might get got. It's such a simple but unique formula, that despite the games numerous bugs and poor optimization, it's still really fun to play. I hope to see more updates in the future to take this game even further into greatness.

It's well worth the price... grab a friend or three and become professional ghost hunters in this thrilling instant classic.

An interesting puzzle game about manipulating nouns and verbs that make up the rules of the game itself. With a limited set of words and limited space, the puzzles scale in difficulty very well and it will take some time to chew through this lovely gem.

Cities: Skylines the logical progression of classic city builders, and yet it has something more; something for everyone. Whether you're like me and played Simcity 2000 but could never last very long without going bankrupt (which is the case for me now with Skylines) or you're a municipal control freak and turn these games inside out, you'll find something to enjoy.

The games "living" traffic system adds another fun dimension to the game. It's hard to describe, but you can really watch individual citizens move about. Think of it like Rollercoaster Tycoon in that sense. If you aren't careful, you'll spend hours with unlimited money enabled just trying to create the ultimate roundabout. That's sort of like a rollercoaster, right?

The robust modding api and workshop integration means you can really flex the game to work for you. You can subscribe to maps and assets to add some variety to your infrastructure or subscribe to mods that give you tools or tricks like automatically demolishing abandoned buildings or even tweaking the balance of the game. These kinds of things take a few years and shoddy modding wrappers to get working in other similar games, but Colossal Order has proven to be extremely competent and has provided us with a brilliant API. Take your time with this one, the community has a lot to offer when you're done with the base game.
