This isn't really a game, since there's only one path to follow/one way to win. Hope you like 100 hours of trial and error while you figure out what events will advance the story and what events will send you in to a catastrophic death spiral. Before you know, the game is impossible. After you know, you're just filling in boxes.

Good games are about making interesting decisions, and there aren't any here. Just the path the devs want you to follow.

Early Access Review
So far in early access, it's fun. Plays like a mix between Offworld Trading Company and Star Wars Rebellion. Not really a true RTS, not really a true 4x because of the realtime nature of it. Lots of systems and modifiers and details to dig in to, lots of ways to screw each other in multiplayer but the UI needs polish and the tutorial is somewhat minimal. Game is not DEEPLY STEEPED IN DUNE LORE but does a very good job between sandworms and supply needs in making the planet feel like an active participant in the ongoing conflict. Only gonna get better, probably worth the $30 now, though.

A first person roguelike death simulator where you probably won't realize what killed you until the post game score screen. 10/10 would freeze to death in the middle of an asteroid belt again!

It really works. It's weird to feel your brain being rewired as you practice and improve.

i mean i like it because it's something mindless to do during the 'Roni- just point yourself at the compass arrow. the gunplay is terrible and the setting/map are relentlessly drab but at least they didn't charge extra for Wastelanders :) meh

I'm editing this review after putting some time in with Wastelanders. Don't buy this game. The 5th time you log out because a level 200 player wrecks your instance with bots 10 levels above you and you waste half your impossible to trade, sell or smelt ammo missing shots WHILE YOURE LOCKED ON IN VATS BECAUSE FOR SOME REASON THE GAME DOESN'T REGISTER HITS UNTIL MOBS 'NOTICE' AND FACE YOU will make you want to die. Typical gameplay cycle is 'make it 75% of the way through a dungeon, realize you don't have enough ammo/fusion cores to finish the boss, log off in frustration, rinse and repeat'.

'Gameplay' consists of you and your enemies standing ten or twelve feet apart and trading shots until one of your meters is gone. It's fetch quest after endless fetch quest, the soundtrack is grating and the graphics are terrible. DO. NOT. WASTE. MONEY. ON. THIS. GAME.

Really excellent brawler with intriguing writing, for once. Visceral and fun combat. Brilliant characterization through incredibly detailed facial animations and the voice acting is excellent. Really well thought out and actually fun mini games. Some annoying load time issues transitioning in and out of buildings. Bosses are sort of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in that once you hurt them they start blocking everything with impunity. Lots and lots- and lots- of cutscenes. Lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng finale with no save points- three hours plus. All in all, an excellent first PC Yakuza game.

We haven't had a decent PC golf game in quite a while; at $40 The Golf Club 2 is a good buy but it's even better at $15 as it has been during Steam sales. The negative reviews are mostly from people who find the game too hard or don't like that there's no multiplayer lobby/voice chat. It's also a very unforgiving game. Most golf games you master the swing meter within 10 or 12 rounds, then the game becomes about holing the ball from the fairway and shooting 36 under par every round. Not this one. You will need to use draw and fade and maybe not swing at 100% every time. You will struggle to make par, no doubt.

Things to know:

The game is unlicensed. There are no real courses (unless someone recreated one in the frankly kick ASS course creator), real players, or real equipment.

You can play it with M+KB or a controller, it's up you you. Bear in mind that THERE IS NO SWING METER IN THIS GAME and that the tempo of your swing is important. Pull back slow but swing fast and you'll feel it.

Putting is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard. The greens break like crazy and it's probably the most frustrating part of the game when you miss but the most satisfying when you connect. Fast greens are really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard.

The game is, in general, extremely unforgiving. Better to lay up than overshoot a green by 40 yards and blow your round. For this reason, it's not super relaxing.

You have to have an internet connection, even for singleplayer (lame).

There's local multiplayer (which is fun with the Steam link) and you can also play against up to three other "ghosts" during your round- you'll see their shots but not their golfer's model. If you've played a particular course yourself before, you'll be one of the ghosts.

The only real customization in terms of skill is the three different levels of clubs. You don't power up skills or buy a better putter or balls that bite on the green more.

The three levels of clubs add a lot more control but also introduce a lot more difficulty. You can shoot par with the standard clubs but you're going to need to use the good ones to shoot 10 under.

Live handicapping!

You can spend ingame money on a few things: buying new outfits/hats/club paints, upgrading your personal Society clubhouse, joining or donating to another Society (such as GGG), and entering tournaments.

A really excellent Myst-like with wonderful visuals and an enchanting soundtrack. WARNING: You have to be able to hear to solve at least one of the puzzles. I would rate this as better than Obduction, which was a little clunky in places. Took me around 30 hours to finish but I absolutely agonized over a couple of the puzzles. Small amounts of jank when you are required to rotate things in the game world, but you can work past it. Very satisfying experience!
