Absolutely not recommended right now. So many promises made. So few kept.

Terrible communication. The community manager clearly only serves as a punching bag to push in front of the fans.

What framework is here is great, but it's bogged down by inexcusable performance hitches and an entirely missing crafting system.

The game is unfinished. Vermintide 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, so I still ended up putting over 100 hours into Darktide so far, but I cannot stress enough that I would NOT have the same enjoyment if this was my first introduction to the series.

I can see the potential, and enjoy plenty of what is already available, but the state of the game at the moment is unnacceptable.

To top it off, there is NO offline functionality what-so-ever.

TL;DR: Don't bother. Check back in April.

Early Access Review
To anyone interested in playing but worried their computer won't be able to handle it:

You can run the game at half the resolution while still keeping the menus and UI at your desktop resolution. The game's low-poly style really does not suffer much at all by lowering the resolution. Obviously you'll be losing a bit of that crisp-ness, but once you get to playing none of that matters.

Teardown is a fantastic little destruction romp, and the challenges are pretty fun and engaging.

l4d but even better. Leveling, loot, loadouts and customization for each career's abilities gives a lot of replay value. Also there's cosmetics I guess.

edit: It's still very good.

edit2: Yes, it is still good. Additional tweaks to careers, a quality of life update, and new emote actions have made an already enjoyable game even more fulfilling.

edit3: Still playing. Still waiting on that final Sienna career. Still a bit more content left before Vermintide 2 is officially finished with updates. With the recent influx of new players do to the game being given away for free for a week and the super sales after, now is a great time to get into Vermintide.

As should be clear, this should be free. It does what it says, but there is really no reason this should be DLC.

The game is still priced fairly high to begin with, not even including the other DLC you will probably end up getting eventually.

For me, Shogun 2 suffers from the same issues that the TW:Warhammer does in terms of DLC and pricing. The game is presented to you in a way that feels incomplete if you don't purchase all of the DLC. It didn't happen immediately, but I have purchased all of the DLC for both Shogun 2 and TW: Warhammer (1, specifically).

I don't regret my purchases, as they have provided the content they promised. However, up until I made those purchases, I never felt like I had a "complete" game. Options were grayed out for me, making it very clear every time I played what I wasn't allowed to do.

Instead of feeling like extra, expanded content, all the DLC content feels like a paywall for unlocking the full version of the game.

People's Playground is exactly what it says it is. It's worth it for some ragdoll fun, but i will say that outside of the ragdolls, the physics are not so great. You'll find yourself fighting with the engine to create what you're intending, but I wouldn't say it's a dealbreaker.
