Long time fan of the series, so I of course immediately backed the kickstarter project way back in Dec 2017 when I saw the initial promise video from Nightdive. They took a few wrong turns here and there but luckily they switched back on staying true to the original and this game is really the bomb. Basically what you would expect it to be, looking at it with a nostalgic eye into your memory and how you remember the game from way back when.

Obviously it improved in controls and other areas from the original, but the story, gameplay, the overall feeling of waking up in this hostile environment and trying to first move inch by inch, discovering how things work and how you can survive, make it one of the great games for me this year. And that says a lot with many good games having surfaced this year.

It's a no brainer recommendation for fans of the original and also for newcomers, who like sci-fi horror-ish survival games with a neatly adjustable difficulty setting for several categories within the game. If you liked the store page videos and screenshots, then just give it a try and I'm sure you won't be disappointed 👍

I love the island and all its puzzles. An outstanding game, that will make you think about its world and inner meaning at night, denying you of your good sleep and long after finishing the game.

I would recommend this to anyone, who likes creative games that take a different approach to things, in this case puzzles in general and who can appreciate the art and hard work that was put into making this gem.

Audio is exceptionally well done, face animations, atmosphere, everything fantastic! Perfect game for graphic ♥♥♥♥♥♥ as well as story enthusiasts, as this one also delivers something to think about quite long after.

A beautifully written short story that made me shed some inner tears.

Gameplay wise it resembles "Gone Home" in many ways. You explore a house, in this case a couple rooms, and get some very interesting story pieces by observing items lying around. Each piece will get you closer to understanding the grand total of what happened while you are listening to some nice and melancholic tunes.

It is quite short, but it is free and visually as well as narratively compelling and definitely deserves a look.

Finally played/finished this game and I must say it was well worth the time. Really good mechanics, beautiful level design and a refreshing story. It really deserves a closer look as you cannot really do anything wrong with this game. It may be short, but it is on sale every other week, so grab it when you have the chance ;)

Great game, feels like Assasins Creed in many ways - it even does not have a deep or fulfilling story. The game mechanics however, make a lot of fun and can be enjoyed for a while. This game is not "game of the year"-material though. :)

Beste Atmosphäre, gelungene Kampfmechanik und witzige Dialoge. Genau was man von der Go.. eh.. Risen-Reihe erwartet.. Absolute Empfehlung für alle Fans des RPG! :)

Brilliant game.. as expected a funny story and solid adventure for the heart! The Broken Age universe is filled with crazy ideas waiting to capture your heart!

a fascinating voyage into the depths of grimrock.. must see for any old rpg fans! :)
