I love this game, which shocked me. I expected to not enjoy it very much, considering the only part of the Zero Escape trilogy I liked was 999 (and I didn't love it, I just liked it) but I was blown away by this game. Uchikoshi did it, after 20 years he learned how to write a mystery story that makes sense and has no leaps in logic!
And then he forgot again when he made the sequel.

If I had to describe this game in one word, it would be "contrived"

A game more focused on it's twists than it is on it's logic, Nirvana Initiative discards almost everything good from the first game in favor of becoming an even more goofy, over the top, insane experience with twists around every turn. while the first game was actually fairly grounded outside of a few goofy moments, here I couldn't even see the ground.

If you're here for a light sci-fi mystery story with a reasonable logical through-line, I'd look elsewhere. As that is what I liked out of the first game, I was very disappointed by the focus shift to more sci-fi action, conspiracy thriller storytelling. looking back a few days after finishing it, my thoughts have cooled down and so I've edited this review. I still don't recommend the game, but if you're ok with an incredibly silly story that is willing to bend over backwards for the sake of it's own weird twists rather than the mystery, then go for it.

Steam needs a middle ground between ratings.

As somebody who is a fan of the previous Bloodrayne games despite their flaws, and a huge Wayforward fan, I expected more from this, but you can really feel the tight budget and schedule this game had, it's obviously a low effort tie in game from the xbox live arcade game era, I simply can not recommend it, and that's incredibly sad to me because I wanted to love this game, when I started playing this series earlier this year, THIS GAME is the one I expected to like the most.

To put my problems into two words: Horrible controls. The Bloodrayne series is not known for being amazingly polished in the combat department, it's not DMC, but this just feels really horrible. Compared to Wayforward's other games (shantae series, mighty switch force, river city girls etc) movement and combat controls are unresponsive and sluggish. combos are finicky to do, jumping is really janky, and combat has a very weightless and slidey feel. it's simply not satisfying to play, and I've seen much better 2D hack and slash combat out there.

A real shame, the visual design, voice acting and music are all great, but the game felt like a chore and I only played a single level before having enough of it.

A true spiritual successor to Ace Combat, Project Wingman has just enough new ideas to not feel like it's just copying Project Aces' homework, while still delivering the experience fans of the series have come to expect. Now, next to something like Ace Combat 7, it can't exactly compete in terms of scope or budget, but what it has is incredibly impressive for the small team that created this game. If you're an Ace Combat fan, or a fan of arcade flight simulators, this game is worth the already pretty low price. (I might have gotten it for free as a gift from a friend, but I would have bought it myself anyway.)

Buy this game.

I have played this game since the early access version and watched it grow and change over time. When I began playing it, there was no final boss, the game just stopped a few levels in. It hasn't all been ups, some changes weren't the best choices, weapons and builds got balanced poorly and made the game less fun at times, but the developers were persistent and determined, they listened to their playerbase, and they made something really special.

Even now they're updating this game, adding new dlc, new free content, and reworking major systems. The game we have now is not the game I bought, it's better. and if you don't believe me, the beta tab allows you to roll back to older major builds whenever you want, and see just how it's evolved over time. A great game, a great roguelite, don't miss out on this one.

Yeah, you see that near 600 hours of playtime despite the negative review, yeah, there's a reason for that. I had a lot of fun with warframe, I didn't get into it right away, it had been out for a few years when I finally dove into it fully, and I had a blast going through the early game content and the story. If you just want to play it casually and see the story contents, I suppose I can still rec it.

However, over time the somewhat bizarre choices of the developers have left the game in a state I don't really care for anymore. Focusing on adding more open world content, more game modes that are entirely isolated from both the main story and the other content. since I started play Warframe seriously, there has been a single main story mission added to the game. The balance of the gameplay has slipped into a weird state where guns are useless, which they plan to address but at this point I don't have much faith in their ability to do so.

One of the best Stylish Action Games on Steam! it's a bit short, but I picked it up on a sale and it was totally worth it. Gameplay is smooth for an indie title like this, and most of the animations feel really good, outside of the normal walking animations those look a big jank. If you like DMC, this is a nice DMC like game, with two characters who have nice playstyles that are different to other characters in similar games.
