This game is not what I expected at all. I guess it's what you would call "horror?" Lovecraftian in the original sense of the word. The thing I enjoyed it for the most is its impeccable direction and sense of pace. It perfectly captures the feeling of being in a nightmare, which is what life has felt like for the past couple of years.

I think you need to play it.

A cute and competent colony sim with a cool terraforming twist (the game has Tetris elements, but that's a good thing).

Early Access Review
I don't usually play early access games, but I saw a pretty logo and heard the lovely music, and I thought I'd try it out for an hour. I was bored.

As it stands, I've now spent two nights obsessing over chicken egg production and building horsecarts. I can't believe how engaging and deep this game is. I just want more features at this point, so please support this developer!

11/10, would slaughter pigs again

I just finished Doom Eternal on Nightmare. Smart, ruthless, addictive, beautiful, confident, it is easily one of the best action games I have ever played. When it runs on everyone's smart fridge 20 years from now, people will look back at it and reminisce about how good it was.

You've got to respect how Doom Eternal really knows what it is, and it is Doom 2016 meets Quake 3 Arena. It's the only single-player action game I've ever played that feels like you're jumping around q3dm6 in FFA.

I wasn't surprised by the excellent combat and encounter design, but you know what's really cool? It also nails adventuring and exploration like few other games do. It helps that the environments are fantastic and varied, and the progression systems are addictive and impactful.

hey also did something to the tone of the story. I can't really put my finger on it, but it grew up, went to college, experimented with substances, and ended up getting a postgrad degree. Its genre is pulp action sci-fi, and it is (and this is true) *♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome*. I'd buy an illustrated Codex book in a heartbeat and read it with a huge grin on my face.

The Beginner's Guide is a very important game. It shouldn’t be streamed, reviewed in the traditional sense of the word or even spoken of. It’s a very special game. Don’t watch YouTube videos of it. Don't look at the screenshots. Don't even watch the trailer. You’d be robbing yourself of something very special.

It may be good, or it may be bad, but you need to live it yourself and make your own impression. I am recommending that you play it. In fact, I'm begging you to play it, but who am I to decide whether it is good or bad? It is what it is, and what it is needs to exist, and people need to see it with their own eyes and hear it with their own ears.

“The Beginner’s Guide is a game about–” No. Stop it. Don’t do it to your fellow humans. Talking about The Beginner’s Guide is like smelling about a symphony or dancing about a cake. What’s the point?
