Yeah it's fun. The company protects.

I am 36 years old and played this game with randoms-only. I had a blast. Learning the enemies, how to handle them, exploring seeded dungeons to find loot, trying to make it as far as you can, while having a ton of laughs along the way is a blast.

There's short and long-term decisions to be made regarding how much loot to sell, how much to save, what equipment to buy. Do we risk looking for more loot so we can buy more gear to get more loot? Do we save up so we go the long haul with the company? How far can we make it? We have X dollars in the bank, do we risk losing a portion of that by sending someone out to get more loot, but they could die reducing our bank? Should we spend all of our money to avoid this? Should we go to a hard planet for increased loot but increase our chance of wiping and losing everything?

Impactful decisions and player agency are what make a game great, and this game is full of them. Not to mention discussing said decisions with your team and taking their opinions into account. It's a goofy blast, but there's also a serious game in here, if you want it to be. I think I have about 60+ hours on it and I've made it to day...40? I think? I'm interested in going back and seeing if I can beat that score, and also to check out new stuff when updates drop. The more the dev adds to the game, the more there will be to do when seeded in with old content, creating unique situations to overcome and laugh at.

It's Paragon! The new brawl mode allows you to have fun and not be locked in a match with random toxicity for 45 minutes.

People blow up in toxic waste on you and when you respond, they and their 3 friends in the match report you for saying exactly what they said back to them. Seven day ban. Go ♥♥♥♥ yourself Hi-Rez. Never another ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dollar.

Okay steel is automated. Why did I want steel again? Never mind I don't care anymore, closes game. 10/10

What do we got here? Wartales? Mumble mumble...party...level ups...M&B map...mumble turn-based mumble...AH! It's crack! Wartales is crack. Better close it quickly.

Hasn't crashed. Just been having fun gunning dudes down and leveling up. Collecting stuff. Idk, it's fine?

Additional 1/20/2023: Game HAS crashed a few times (probably 5 total) mid mission. Reconnecting allows me to continue playing the mission as if I never crashed, saving my progress.

There's a lot of content to do. Having completed the standard game and moved onto the pre-warlords end-game, I can say there's plenty to do and plenty of end game to be had. Will update after moving onto warlords and checking that out. Looking forward to it.

Make a game based around frantic movement and second-to-second decisions like Doom right? Add an enemy that locks you in place if you don't dodge it's ground AoE that you can't see if it's placed under you. It's like Doom's Marauder but even less fun. Great design.
