I'm very new to the concept of roguelike games (aside from some very brief experiences with random dungeon crawler games in the late 90s) but I found Slay the Spire to be a very easy game to pick up and play & to get the basics of. Mastering however will take a lot of time as utilising your cards, upgrades and rest/merchant stops along the way will make the difference between success and utter failure at the hands of a piece of sentient jelly!

Star Trek Bridge Crew is a fuin if limited VR experience based on the hit sci-fi seriesand pputs you in one of four ppotential roles as you play with fellow Trekies from across the globe to further the goals of the Federation.

I'd be wanting this for a while and was delighted to get it when it was half price on a sale. What I can say immediatyely is that Bridge Crew does successfully make you feel like you are in control of the ship. Whether you're the Captain, Engineer, Tactical Officer or Helm Officer, if you geta good group of 4 people together and get into the atmosphere and roles of being a part of Starfleet, you will get more out of the experience than if you just play it as is. :)

None of the roles feel tacked on and graphically it's great on Vive. The controls are intuitive and simple while giving you reasonable control of your starship. Expperienced your ship in 360 degrees is something to be experienced.

On the downside, the amount of missions isn't fantastic, though that is likely to change soon. Also it has been hard recently finding players to join, desppite cross platform play. Not quite sure why that is the case, but something to consider.

Bridge Crew is a very fun game though, so play with a few friends and see how fun it is for yourselves!

You get to ride a rollercoaster and feel the rush! Great example of the fun VR can have, even if it is entirely onrails. It is a rollercoaster game though so...really what else can you expect?!

Only one track is available in the base game though so if you want to enjoy more tracks, be prepared to pay for them to give this game a little more longetivity.

Otherwise, strap in and enjoy the beautiful ride :)

Train Simulator VR is a brief, patchy but intriguing use of the VR format. I've always been a fan of train simulators, so the prospect of being able to drive one in 1st person in Japan was something that was right up my alley.

There are however a few issues with the game that so far have limiooted my enjoyment:

1) The controls. To maintain train speed you're forced to keepp your left hang gripped an dheld in a very specific position for a few minutes while you go from station to station. Simply put, that really hurts and detracts from the experience. If there's a way around this, I couldn't find it.

2) Textures/Landscapes are underdeveloped at best or bland at worst. It's very much 'tech demo stage' and while the ideas are there for the various locales, it hasn't been developed enough to make a fully enjoyable and realized experience.

3) One map literally doesn't work. You spawn in midair with no train or track anywhere near you. This is the 3rd choice you have out of 4 but the others work fine. This should either be removed until finished or patched ASAP.

I do like the concept though, it's a fun idea and the seeds of a good game are present, but a lot more development is needed. The developers though seem to be on the ball, adding new bits and fixes regularly, so I'm hoping this turns into something worthy of being in the VR library. Until it's fixed though, I'd suggest waiting for a sale to buy this or until this game has been upgraded sufficiently.
