The Dungeons series were inspired by Dungeon Keeper, which was one of my favorite games growing up. It is too bad that Dungeon Keeper never got a third installment. Dungeons is fun in its own right and uses some of the original Dungeon Keeper's game mechanics, while also adding some of its own.

I fondly remember playing this game back when it was first released in 1999. It is, in my view, an underrated and underappreciated gem. The story was interesting enough that I would lose track of time, I was so absorbed in the game that I would spend hours at a time playing it, often staying up way past my normal bedtime. I had to get just a little further in the story to see what happens next. While, the game was far from perfect, especially by today's standards, it is one of the few games that I enjoyed playing enough, that I was pleasantly surprised to see it on steam and decided to buy it, even though I already have the original CD. Since, Septerra Core is an older game, the graphics and and controls will take awhile to get used to and might seem klunky. However, I think the game and its story are worth the trouble, as this game should be played by any fan of old-school Role playing games.
