The Crash DLC is smaller than the base game — both in map size and scope — and it tries to do some things differently, testing waters for Supraland 2. This time there's less focus on combat and more ways to play with most of the tools you're already familiar with.

A very addictive first-person metroidvania with a focus on exploration and puzzle solving in a bright and colourful sandbox world. Great puzzle design, great pacing and a ton of secrets.

It is very hard to believe that only two people are responsible for the creation of this game. The result of a two-man team work looks astounding: vast forests and plains of the island are teeming with life, sun is shining through the leaves, day is slowly turning into night, dying in a wonderfully beautiful sunset.

Our protagonist arrives to the island in hopes of getting cured of the plague. A small research group has been working here for quite some time, and it seems they’ve been successful in finding the cure. But as we soon find out, the scientists are all dead and the research outposts stand empty. It is now up to us to explore the island, find out what happened to its inhabitants and finally create the cure for the plague. And oddly enough, we are still not alone on the island…

The game is very atmospheric – just let it pull you in and enjoy the challenges it presents. You are going to hunt for flowers and mushrooms, climb the hills and explore the ravines, map the island using a compass and landmarks and run away screaming when the mysterious Creature arrives.

The main problem of Miasmata is at the same time its main attraction. It is a budget game. Miasmata lacks content, excitement and diversity – the Creature’s constant presence helps at first, but as the game progresses the constant stalking stops being as frightening and becomes somewhat tedious. And when you remove the Creature from the equation, Miasmata has surprisingly little to offer – the plot is straightforward and almost non-existant, there are no sub-quests, just pure plant hunting and island mapping. However, the game’s hardcore nature and the fresh approach to the genre is going to keep you interested long enough to be able to survive and find the damn cure.

This release follows a short Greenlight campaign that took place earlier this year. The developer took the Greenlight page and the accompanying trailer down, but thanks to the magic of Internet Archive it's possible to see all the features that were advertised[imgur.com] when the game was receiving upvotes.

Originally posted by Greenlight page:
Catacomb Explorers is a Open World platformer with metroidvania elements. Explore a vast world full of secrets. Find new weapons , learn new skills. Immersive atmosphere, Excellent music, Nice pixel art graphics and more.

* Metroidvania elements
* A Great Big World
* Nice pixel art graphics
* Good music
* Interact with the environment, discover secrets
* 8 types of enemies (+Bosses)
* 6 types of weapons
* Local co-op(???)

Now, let's look at the game.

There is no open world, or "great big world" or any "metroidvania elements". We have a simple straightforward platformer offering 10 short levels which loop endlessly after completion. You just run from one end of the level to another. There is no story, no music, no sound (with the exception of one "jumping" sound effect). There are no enemies, no weapons, no interaction with environment, and no co-op. So, what's left, nice pixel art graphics? Well, it turns out that Catacombs Explorers shares assets with GrottyScape, released by a different developer.

The game offers nothing that was promised at the Greenlight stage, and yet it's being sold right now as a finished product.

An unusual take on the FPS genre, Spec Ops: The Line is distinctly similar to Apocalypse Now, Strong narrative and vivid characters are coupled here with excellent game mechanics and lovely visuals.
