Great concept, absolute worst execution. This game is horribly horribly made, the game literally only works half the time, buttons don't do what they say, combat isn't really combat attack buttons don't work, offensive units don't follow orders they just move to an area and randomly decide whether they will attack or walk around in a circle and die, if you attack with a ranged unit it walks up to melee range, does not attack and dies, etc... etc.. because the idea is good but the execution was so woefully bad some people tried to do a remake, but the game was initially so badly made the remake is is just as bad to play, I mean hell they even removed the attack button altogether from the remake because it's so badly made and the combat is really that bad. Go play settlers, townsmen, etc... pretty much literally any game of this genre but not this one.

No, not an exaggeration either, this was realllly realllllllly lazily and badly made in an era when we had quality crammed into cd's and floppy disks.

The pathfinding is like, wow bad, units will just randomly constantly stop for no reason and not just one, whole squads or half your entire unit group will be scattered across the map just stanfing there. The Ai cheats more than any game i've ever seen, like I get it, but to "increase difficulty" it just ignores rules as opposed to any effort in a better ai and spams units far beyond there are resources on the map, the game WILL NOT WORK unless you get third party downloads. It's old, it's bad, it doesn't hold up but was fun in 2000. On top of that it has more bugs than a spilt soda left out in the sun. A wonderful idea with the worst execution from the horrible lazy devs. Yeah 505 and Fawkner.

What a ♥♥♥♥ rng mess

What a piece of half assed unplayable trash and VERY typical of WB games, video and audio doesn't match up in cutscenes so you feel like you're watching a cheap 1970's martial arts dub. No and I mean NO thoguht was put into menus, UI or quality of life, menus think the most inconvenient and annoying little things and mash them all up, there's the menus.

I wanted to like this, but it is by far the worst piece of programming I have seen since fallout 76.

Every year their quality gets worse now they're magic devolver digital level of buggy garbage but charging full price and hoping the IP name will carry it, as usual because every tital of theirs is the same. This is no different only grab it if you can get it for free.

78 hours in haven't even finished my first playthrough.
Yeah, this gives you a good dollar to hour ratio for sure if that's your thing.

The game has a little bit of a slow start, but that's only because there's so much to take in but as you familiarise yourself with the game and start to understand the extents of your options and freedom which compound on each other you will get hooked. My first 2 hours were kind of meh feeling but by the third hour with the cinematics, the interactions the sheer amount of freedom and choices available but more importantly the world reacting appropriately to those choices is incredible.

In short this game gives me hope for the future of gaming. If the price tag seems a bit hefty that's okay because you will get a lot of value out of it, it's totally worth it.

Before Starfield came out I was addicted to meth.

I'm still addicted to meth but at least now I have something to occupy my hands.

walking sim

This one is somehow much worse than the original, there is only 1 thing better, a menu sensitivity. Otherwise the game doesn't hold up well at all, it's still got more bugs than a cheap motel and as far as I can tell the menu sensitivity was the only decent change, the rest were just to make gameplay more annoying and less fun, like chest not respawning unless you quit the game and restart or the just offscreen spawning, etc....

there's an entire character based aroung ranged guns, yet guns are awful, nothing was fixed, hell the bullets that fly out don't actually mean anything it's based on cross hair and bullets will hit a target but not do anything because of the way it was designed, and they removed the ability to buy guns from almost all vendors and limited them from spawning in chests like the original to like 3 chests in the game, yadda yadda, they made a game that was bad but fun into a game that was just bad and still makes no sense.

In fact just ignore this exists and play the original for nostalgia or go play dying light which is a far far better game in literally every respect. Seriously, don't waste money on this.

This is a great little side game to have open while you're doing other stuff like watching youtube or whatever. Addictive and fun.

The idea of the game is your typical zombie apocalypse survival crafting game, nothing new or exciting but fun if you like that sort of thing. The problem with this one is it's a barebones, buggy clunky mess. There's not huge things wrong with it, but there's tons of little things that add up and are just frustrating and take away from the what fun would be had. It's too frustrating to really be enjoyable, things like the controls not working properly half the time, say exiting a menu or switching a waeapon and things and trying to aim and swing a weapon or shoot and it just doesn't respond and you have to switch between other weapons and things to make it work, other things like that. The game isn't bad so much as generic and the bugs make it frustrating, not worth the price.
