The DLC is pretty much standalone expansion. You activate the monolith and the Anomaly content turns on. It replaces most of the standard events with Anomaly events. Even the research tree is separated, requiring an Anomaly only unlock. What is there is really fun, interesting and challenging. But I am not sure how many times it could be played through as the discovery of that content was the major fun aspect. In contrast, the other DLCs (Royalty, Ideology and Biotech) are well integrated with the base game, meaning they add content and events that will be a part of all your playthroughs. I think this DLC is primarily for experienced Rimworld players, looking for something a bit different, or maybe people specifically wishing horror themes. It is certainly not for everyone.

A update by the dev after my review means the integration is smoother!

A sort of immobile tower defence, when souls rush you. Play and combine cards to upgrade your tower. This is a fun game, worth the price.

Simple design and not too taxing to solve the puzzles but very satisfying for the low price tag.

Early Access Review
Casual twin-stick game, simple, fun, cheap.

It is early access but its a full working game with enough content.

Also .. Potatoes

This is way too much of a fun time waster for the cost. Part auto-battler, part bullet hell, but so much fun.

The overall look and feel is simple and intuitive, making it easy to handle building. Each "level" is unlocked by submitting the correct type and shape. You can also unlock types of tools and upgrade the tier of existing tools.

There is no time or threat constraints to the game, so its all about building those massive systems and then optimising them to your hearts content.

The music is is ace as well, helping the overall chill feel of the game.

It is opensource and you can play a demo of it online before buying it (https://shapez.io/).

Picked it up after watching Northernlion play it. It is simple in concept but the building of fun synergies gives it some replay. Once you beat it, there is a NG+ mode, which toughens the enemies. This is well worth the tiny price tag.

This game is free, which means there is little reason not to try it out. There is no hard sell for the paid content, which isn't just cosmetics, there are a couple of missions and raids (note you need to purchase Shadowkeep and Forsaken to unlock everything). The game play loop is a relatively standard RPG affair, complete bounties, strikes and raids get more loot. The environments are beautiful and there is easily tens of hours of content. I have reached the soft-limit and now am grinding bosses for superior loot. The game is running seasons (as is common with F2Ps), so there is a "Season Pass", which works like your normal battle pass from other games.

So all in all, a fun free game with hours of content.

Don't think of this as a 2D Minecraft, whilst there is a sandbox nature to it, the focus is far more on combat and boss battles. There is tonnes of weapons, equipment and vanity gear to let you mix and match and find fun combos. There is also a very large modding community.

500+ hours in and I am still playing this game .. and its still getting major updates. What was good before has got even better with each upgrade. More items, harder challenges!
