A bit short, but great voice acting and a great story.

8/10 would cry again.

I couldn't make it far. I'm sorry, there may be an amazing game ahead, but the amount of times my character has been knocked out during intros/tutorials is just crazy. Dream, blackout. Wake up on ship, get caught, crazy magic lady, blackout, wake up, ship captain is a nasty person, blackout, have a dream, wake up, fight rats, go through tutorial dungeon, talk to a nice guy, black out, sit down on chair, wait for treatment, get attacked by bandits, blackout, wake up, talking to another guy...

I just... can't. The on-rails nature of this intro to the game combined with the overuse of getting knocked out has just ruined this for me.

The game literally has only 1 decision you can make. Let the girls in, or don't. If you let the girls in, your starter girls leave the bunker, and you are reunited with them in the end.

If you don't let the girls in, you keep your starter girls, but get reunited with the two travelling girls in the end.

There's no food management mechanics, or any other gameplay mechanics. Even the sex scenes are fairly bad, with audio clips looping obnoxiously after just a few seconds, and the 3rd and 4th scenes being basically identical.

H-games on Steam are competitive now. We expect something of an actual game, especially for $10 dollars.

I spent half my treasure buying metal armor for my army's groin region, to prevent them from dying to critical hits to the balls.

Early Access Review
There's something about the basic game loop that gets stale very quickly. The luxury goods system feels like a headache to manage more than fun gameplay. It's a bit like trying to play a Sim City / Cities Skylines game but without the infrastructure and mechanics to help you succeed. The card system feels very out of place, and doesn't really affect the actual gameplay that much.

Obviously you can compare it to Banished, but unlike that game, which needed you to mostly play one way in order to survive, Kingdoms: Reborn gives you more wiggle room and freedom to survive in various ways.

I'll try the game again in 6 to 12 months, and update this review as the Early Access status of the game matures a bit more.

My advice to the devs would be:

Either fully commit to the cards and make them matter and be critically impactful to the game, or scrap the card idea entirely. An example of fully committing would be to let the player build a civilisation out of a deck of cards before the game starts, and games aren't quite meant to be cozy sims that last for a very long time, but become closer to matches of a game like Age of Empires, and at the end of the match you make progress to unlocking more cards.

Or, ditch the cards and commit to the game being a cozy colony sim game with stress and difficulty determined by map generation and game settings.

Right now, the cards are basically "licenses" to allow you to build a copy of a building, but you still have to pay the normal wood, stone, etc to build the building. It's a bit odd, from a design decision, but you earn enough wild cards and can choose from cards so often that you can always get whatever you need, so it's just jumping through hoops... or, maybe it's flying through Superman 64 rings in the sky for no reason. :)

Really shallow diplomacy options, dead community, no mods.

Game is solved: Make a horizontal stick shaped ship. Large sized noses with a 50/50 mix of Sniper and Mass Driver. Subfleet of Hammerheads with 50/50 Sniper and Mass Driver Mix. Large sized engines, with all Zapper Hangars. Start any battle, even 3vs1, and hold down S and you'll win. I just got done killing base after base in the sandbox free play mode, nothing can stop me, have only been playing for a few hours on this save file.
