It's like someone created black tar heroine for nerds and made it so that you can manufacture more. And more.... always more....

I can't recommend this game enough. What a hidden gem of a game and hands down one of the best game soundtracks I've heard. This game tips its hat to its Megaman roots while delivering an exciting and new way to play the genre via rogue-lite elements.
You find items/equipment each run to add a new twist on how you do battle. The combat is fun and becomes progressively more challenging as you approach the later stages of the game. It can be tough but its very fair. You gain "soul chips" by playing and defeating baddies, which carry through after each subsequent game over to allow you to unlock new items for your next run. There are also several modes like daily challenges, to keep things interesting. The controls are tight and responsive, visuals are appealing, and the soundtrack... man... one of the worst parts about dying is the song ending!
Again, can't recommend this game enough! I hope you find it as enjoyable as I do!

Early Access Review
Grim Dawn is a spectacular addition to the isometric ARPG family. Created by some of the team that brought you the timeless classic Titan Quest, strap up and delve into Cairn - a world in a 'victorian-esque' era that is experiencing the eradication of the human race.

At this time, this game is still a work in progress but it shows a ton of promise. Grim Dawn lives up to its name and paints a canvas of a harsh world where good help is hard to find, suvival isn't always guarenteed and death lurks around every corner. Accompanied by a fantastic soundtrack, I found this game sucked me into its world and I sunk tons of hours hacking and slashing my way to the finish of the current beta (Build 24).

If I had to compare it to other games of the genre, I'd say it has the grit and gore of Diablo 2/Path of Exile, mixed with the leveling system of Titan Quest and the fast combat of Torchlight 2. Grim Dawn introduces a variety of its own elements, such as the 'Constitution' health regeneration system, designed to reduce the number of trips to town and potions used so you spend more time in combat. The game also features a choice/consequence system where saving 'character A' means the death of 'character B' and a loss of trust from the faction character B is associated with. There is a ton of loot to reward you for your victories and a variety of options for crafting so customization is certainly an option for your gear.

Outside of expected and respected bug fixes, I would like to see: more voice acting for NPCs, more animations for skills and enemies, and hopefully another class (currently there are 5).

I highly recommend this game and I look forward to the completed product. Keep up the great work Crate Entertainment!
