Early Access Review
The game was initial launched and marketted as a return to old school shooters, with the game modeled after Call of Duty 4's ProMod. This started as a great idea and the exection looked fine until the devs decided to label their closed beta release as a "launch." Things went downhill fast as they couldn't keep servers up as well as showed their true incompetence when it came to running a competitive game. To start off, here are decent bit of the poor decisions the studio made:

- Every original idea this studio has come up with has been miserably bad, this is shown in the economy system and the map design. The best maps are the ones that copy exact layouts from Call of Duty titles and even calling their overall gameplay "good" would be a bit of an overstatement. They just seem to stitch a bunch of concepts together and hope it plays well without understanding how to determine the flow of the game. The economy was a lame attempt to add macro level depth that instead created a frustrating experience by a poor design decision to try to combine an economy with a class based shooter
- The communication from the studio was cute at first but the community began to realize after the studios communication on twitter that this wasn't a bunch of industry talent coming together to create a game of passion, but a bunch of amateurs playing "Game Development Studio"
- The launch of an "esports" department in your studio despite having a game that averaged 1000 players a day(this was in February) and was leaking players bad because they game was unplayable. The launch itself was forgiveable, most AAA studios can't get this right and I absolutely understand an Indie studio struggling here as well, the big issue was the studios priority was to make an esport, while forgetting to make a good game first. To end this point, no title that has ever prioritized becoming an "esport" has suceeded at this. It must occur naturally. Artifically injecting esports into your title isn't going to win over an audience. The fact your studio is hosting a major before the game even has anything resembling an active playerbase is one of the grossest oversights I may have ever seen.
- Once the launch mistakes were made, the developers tried to hide behind the "early access" tag despite marketting and labeling their products public release as a "launch."

Despite all of this, it wasn't all bad. The game did allow some of the former promod community to come back together, even if only for a few weeks, and reminisce in the good old days. I hope that the developers can get out of their current mindset and help this game reach it's potential as an fps title and be the game the FPS community has been asking for. My advice for the developers going forward:

- Develop a completely new approach to communicating with your community. Your attempt this week to ask for reviews should be a huge wakeup call in this regard. I don't think you as a company have very many more chances at this.
- Focus on making the game polished and playable instead of making the next big esports title. A good foundation is a necessity before building any skyscraper.

If the games outlook changes I will be more than happy to change this review to a positive one, but sadly with the direction the game is going I can't say this has been an overall positive experience for me or most of the playerbase.

50 cents for a pipboy recolor
1 dollar for a power armor recolor
5 dollars for new power armor

I understand trying to create a market for some premium content, but this is low effort content that should not be supported at these prices. Blatant cash grab.
