Less of a review more of a warning.

Regardless of the 9s and 10s, this game is far from worth it. As well as the Steam reviews of people with a handful of hours praising it to be one of the best games of all time.

Suffers with massive performance issues. Graphics were clearly downgraded and are on par with the console versions, even at ultra. Yet you will struggle to maintain 40FPS on medium, even with higher end cards.

Vegetation is terribly done. Grass and small plants are static. Small trees and bushes are made entirely of light, and pass through Geralt with ease.

Game has many bugs and AI issues too.

It's clear not much effort was put into the game performance and visual-wise. Lack of optimisation makes the game far from worth the $60 asking price.

Developers lied about exploration too. Remember when they said "If you see it, you can go there"? Well... You can't. "No invisible walls" ring a bell? False too. Whilst they're not invisible walls, if you stray too far from the enclosed map, you get a warning that you've "reach the world's end" and must "turn back". If you fail to turn back, the map opens up and you must fast travel somewhere.

Do not trust CDPR. People always went on about Valve being for the gamer, and yet they aren't. The case is the same with CDPR.

Finally, to put things into perspective:
My rig:
i5 4690k
GTX 770 OC'd (2GB VRAM)
8 gigs of RAM, and all the rest.

I get 40 FPS at most with plenty of drops running on medium at 1080p. The game looks like something from 2013.

Disgusting.

i played this on 720p on a laptop barely even making it to 30 fps. I had no regrets. This was the best rpg ive ever played. You're a salty a-hole if you feel your gtx 770 couldnt hold upto it. imagine playing it on a geforce 920m.... Nevertheless i played it enjoyed the graphics even at 720p low settings, enjoyed the story.

this is a performance issue, not a game issue, and the PC looks a lot better than console, i have both.

Thank you Kerbo for talking sense.

You really think a 770 is gonna hold that? Newsflash, the recommend specs change. They changed the graphics of this game a lot so that's probably why your fps is a little less

Witcher 3 isn't one of "today's" AAA games, it released 3 1/2 years ago :)

Ok and...? As many other people have told you update your computer and you'll be fine. Your computer is out of for today's AAA games.
