The thrilling prequel to Sleeping Dogs on the island of Panau starring Antonio Banderas with stunts by Jackie Chan, telling the tale of the prevention of the invasion of Hong Kong by the evil dictatorship of Baby Panay and how Bolo Santosi united the island to be a unified citizenship of com-raids.

One of the best sandbox games in recent years. Has an amazing Kung Fu + Asian Crime action drama flick atmosphere ala movies like Kung Fu Hustle and stuff starring Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan and such, with a very lively representation of Hong Kong. As well as a mishmash of some of the best game elements from different video games, such as Batman Arkham Asylum/City's freeflow combat, Assassin's Creed's freerunning, Just Cause's stunt jumping of getting into different vehicles on the fly, a mix of GTA, Max Payne, and Saints Row gunplay, driving and customization.
The story is pretty good and well written, the fairly all-star cast of actors nails the dialog pretty well, mixing believable Cantonese & English. Most of the characters in the game are likable and the NPCs themselves actually feel alive, and you can catch them doing day-to-day routines in a realistic manner coupled with random events. Overall a huge recommendation to anyone who wants to break knees and feel like a dai-lo.
