"Games I Can Play"
I've been running SteamOS for a while now and I like the "Games I Can Play" filter on my library. The only problem is that it isn't always correct. I decided to test every single one of them (currently 142) on my SteamOS machine. I use a wireless Xbox 360 controller with the official Microsoft dongle. I'll try to keep this up-to-date and add new games when I get them.

My Steam Machine

First things first, here are the relevant specs of my machine:
Steam version: Latest beta at time of writing
SteamOS version: Brewmaster 2.09-2.26
Graphics card: Nvidia GTX 750 ti
Processor: AMD Athlon X4 760k
Controller: Microsoft Xbox 360 wireless with the official Microsoft dongle

So far I haven't noticed a difference with Alchemist, except for "The New Penelope" actually launching in Brewmaster. But I might be wrong, please comment if you have a different experience.

Games I Really Can Play

Games Which Don't Launch
The following games just don't work at all, I tried to figure out why with each one of them and listed that.
  1. Awesomenauts (Can't get past launcher, since I don't use a mouse)
  2. Cortex Command (Missing executable)
  3. Evoland (Needs Google Chrome installed to work)
  4. Mousecraft (Can't get past launcher)
  5. Poof VS The Cursed Kitty (Doesn't launch if Mono isn't installed)
  6. Super Chibi Knight (Uses Adobe Air and the launch script is broken)

Games Which Don't Work Well With My Controller
These games don't work well with my wireless Xbox 360 controller. If there is no description, the game completely ignores the controller. If I've tried to inform the developer, I'll link the post.
  1. Anomaly Warzone Earth
  2. Beat Hazard
  3. Binding of Isaac: Rebirth
  4. Dreamfall Chapters
  5. Droid Assault
  6. Drunken Robot Pornography
  7. Dungeon Defenders (Can't select anything but exit game in menu)
  8. Fight The Dragon (Entering your name doesn't work well, other that that the controls seem to work. Text is so small I can't read any of it)
  9. Freedom Planet
  10. Gone Home (This game registers a button press 10 times at the same time while I only pressed once)
  11. Hero Siege
  12. Megabyte Punch (Need to rebind the block button for it to work)
  13. The Next Penelope (Start and Back buttons aren't recognized, can't be changed)
  14. Orbital Gear (Everything seems to work, but the "Quit Game" button doesn't)
  15. PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate
  16. Postal 2
  17. Pulstar (Registers a button press like 10+ times at the same time)
  18. Riddled Corpses
  19. Salvation Prophecy
  20. Saturday Morning RPG (Registers a button press like 10+ times at the same time)
  21. Secrets of Raetikon
  22. Shank 2 (up button doesn't work in menus, back is the menu button instead of up)
  23. The Sparkle 2 Evo (can't get past launcher)
  24. Strike Suit Zero
  25. Superfrog HD (A is bound to X, no other buttons do anything apart from the analog stick)
  26. The Swapper
  27. Teleglitch: Die More Edition (can't get past Paradox Interactive logo)
  28. Ultratron
  29. Velocibox (controller binds are weird, holding a button is registered as spamming it real fast)
  30. Walking Mars
  31. X Rebirth (you need to opt into the SteamOS beta to launch it, but the controller is ignored)

I'll edit the post as I get further, I just felt it was worth posting already. We should probably inform the devs of games which don't work well.

It would be cool to keep this on SteamDB, or a repo, I'd love to keep track of them in the main folder as some sort of crowd sourced file. Unfortunately, it's up to deve to alter the controller compatibility icons, or a few reports on the store page also helps if it's that broken, as was Abe's Exodus: New n' Tasty.

Is it still broken? I was so disappointed when I bought it and it didn't work. I grew up playing those games.
I've been antsy to get home(stuck at work for a few more days) and play it

Works for me. Have to configure the controller in the options, using a wireless logitech controller. I've only tried the game in desktop mode on SteamOS not BPM. I mention that because Oniken doesn't work in BPM, I have to load Steam in the desktop. I think it might have to do with Oniken's Linux version being in a WINE wrapper and BPM is terrible when it comes to adding things to BPM? I have no idea, just a thought

Oops, just noticed you're using Brewmaster. I'm on Alchemist

I think this is where the Steam controller comes to play. For games that don't play nice with traditional controllers, the keyboard and mouse mapping support with the Steam controller should solve this.

While I agree, I think games which advertise full controller support should at least support the most used ones.

Nope, works ok now. I think that was about 2 or so weeks ago or more. It was broken FOREVER.

For me everything but gamespeak and chant seems to work in New 'n Tasty. Do you unlock those later, or do these buttons just not work?

Great job!

I did some testing with more games, they've been added to the list.

The Poof VS The Cursed Kitty dev should just bundle Mono. Hell, they can copy-paste it from Spacechem - that's already just copy-pasted from Ubuntu Mono .debs
