LightDM is crashing (nvidia Module is failing on HDMI)
After a few updates, my SteamOS box isn't in working order. It boots up, then LightDM crashes, then the idiotic autorepair starts, does a few random things I have no clue about, reboots and here we go again.

Seriously how is this script supposed to help? Anyway:

The xorg log: http://pastebin.com/fTRD6ct1
The dmesg relevant info: http://pastebin.com/xkgD6iNW

Not sure why I got the nvidia driver with the last update TBH, I had a working system with Nouveau.

Anything I can do that doesn't involve re-installing everything? I'm still looking

Maybe you can flip some of these commands around and blacklist nvidia instead?

Yes maybe I can, or I could just try

dkms remove $module_name/$module_version --all

and not build it/install it, but before I experiment with a system I'm not entirely familiar with (I'm a gentoo/openrc type), I'm trying to find something that looks like a better solution.
If I have to re-image the system, I'll trash the hole thing and I'll put Gentoo instead. This is such a painful system to update I'd rather deal with portage than see another clumsy script like autorepair.
Well none of this is of any help... Xorg won't start, so I think I'm done here.
Ok, sorry to see you leave. Good luck. To be honest, this only happened to me once. I'd rather have that over Portage any day. I'm not a huge FreeBSD guy I suppose
Same as in the other thread, check this on Github. This thread has received some good community feedback. I hope you're familiar enough with Linux to pull this off.

No it isn't the same, my system has been completely trashed and with this Debian/systemD crap I can't diagnose anything effectively. I just can't login onto the desktop, I get the debian white screen of death with the Oh No! Message. Go figure...

Windows couldn't have felt better right.

Some more details I've got: (EE) FBDEV(0): FBIOBLANK: Invalid argument

It's great, anyway thanks for trying to help, I appreciate the efforts, but as I wrote earlier I think I'm done with SteamOS.
