For those of you who would like to host a Rollcage Redux game, you have to forward the port 21000 on UDP. It is also possible to join our ZeroTier network (instructions are in the Discord) to host a game without the need for any port forwarding.

You can also host a Rollcage Extreme game, however sometimes it does not work (freezing when joining). You have to forward the ports 2300-2400 and 47624 on TCP. You can also use IPXwrapper + ZeroTier, which should work without any freeze. To play multiplayer on Rollcage Extreme, you need an older version than the current one - our Discord contains links to this version.

Also if it works for the time being, there's usually no reason for the devs to think about how technology will handle things 10 years from now, it's just a non-issue at this point; and especially at the time where it evolved so rapidly

I do not mean to be rude to you, but the makers did not have the hardware to make it possible to untie the game logic from the framerate.

In modern games this is typically done by having two threads: one running the logic, one running the frame updates. In old hardware, having two threads would have been more costly in performance (cost of context switching) ; I highly doubt PS1 had that capability. So most (if not all?) games running on PS1 were most probably doing a loop handling both the game logic and the frame updates.

dont mean to be rude to the makers but the thing wrong with most old games is important things are tied to framerate

i mean take lego island as an example
the camera is tied to frames

The game has not been modified in a very long time so it is probably on your end.
The game speed is tied to the framerate, so anything that boosts the framerate will also boost the game speed :-)

im having issues with speed my framerate is 3000 and i heard that something is unlocking it making the game 10x quicker and I tried to remove it from razer cortex and still nothing worked

Note this never happend in the past when i played it
